The Cable Bushings are something everyone should do no matter if they're changing their shifter or not. Well worth the $80

@@rehanali-hy9tk, Yes Acuity makes them for the 8th Gen and I believe Hybrid does as well

best install video for this shifter! HANDS DOWN! Thank you for thoroughly explaining that you have to force that shift cable down into it’s housing! I didn’t want to break anything and was giving up because i thought the shifter didn’t fit my model! You are a true life saver and have earned a new sub!

@4:09 I thought that's a softer spring and the one that comes with the shifter is the stiffer spring

I wish I ended up liking the Hybrid Shifter but I absolutely hated it and ripped it out the car as fast as I possibly could. The stock tower with acuity upgrades alone blew it out of the water imo. Let me be fair, I'm pretty sure something was wrong with mine. Tony knows these cars well enough that he would have never said mine felt great and he would want to use it. But it put a bad enough taste in my mouth that I wasn't messing with it anymore. I think the only downfall of it is it's actually over engineered with too many moving parts.

I heard acuity is too harsh for daily driving, is this shifter any better?

Have you tried just the Acuity upgrades yet? The full Acuity shifter is very stiff but between the two is by far smoother and better designed than the Hybrid Shifter. The owner of Acuity used to be Hybrids engineer.

@@thinkforyourself5672 price difference ain’t much from both of them. I just like the red unit from hybrid, but leaning more towards acutiy at the moment.

@@omarrosales3803, There is a good chance something was wrong with my Hybrid. There is no way people could say they like the way their feels if it felt like mine. I was just so over the BS I was taking it out and that was it. It would feel like gear lockout in 4th at times but it was the shifter, wouldn't line up directly up the middle to get into 3rd. Wouldn't go into 5th or 6th when I would warm the gear box up sitting still and was a fight to get it into reverse. It was terrible. The second I swapped it out, I could get into Reverse with 1 finger. Regardless Acuity makes fantastic products. I went with the Upgrades and bushing and their Esco knob with my Stock Type R tower because I wanted to know what the car is suppose to feel like. Maybe one day I'll go back to the full acuity shifter I had in my Si but I never Slam gears which is really what the resistance level of these full shifter replacements are made for. It's definitely an improvement over stock but for a DD the upgrades were the perfect balance for me to still have a solid feel with easy shifting

@@omarrosales3803, I definitely think Acuity has a solid name in the civic world but for good reason. Everything they make is awesome. Hybrid Racing has actually been around longer so it may tell you something when Acuity is more popular. The owner of Acuity used to be the Hybrid engineer. And I can say the same for 27Won. They deserve the success. They make fantastic products and know our cars as good as anyone. PRL also makes great stuff but I feel like the brand loyalty with them is definitely more of a decision maker than the others. I think the 27Won intercooler is a better choice than the PRL for sure. I'm going with the Greddy because my mechanic has a brand new one and said he'll do the intercooler and Install for $500 which I can't turn down. The 27Won and install would cost me at the very least $900. I'm not tracking the car at all at the moment so the difference between the 2 if there even is one won't be noticed. But I have enough mods now where I have to do it. PRL Intake, PRL titanium ceramic coated inlet pipe, PRL Catted Downpipe, AWE Touring Exhaust with the frontpipe, 27Won Boost Tubes, and Hondata with a custom tune. More importantly I live in South Florida with muggy hellish hot weather 6 to 7 months a year. I was going to do the Mishimoto Radiator with the intercooler but my mechanic is pushing around 500HP on his R and the stock radiator is doing fine which means I don't need it. He suggested the intercooler, Acuity Reverse Flow Coolant Hoses and the updated 2020 grill. So we're going that route here shortly.

@@TdaKid, Keep it that way lol. I went with the Hasport 62A on my Si and removed it 2 months later. Way too much NVH for a DD vehicle. Especially if you use the AC everyday of the year like I have to

@@thinkforyourself5672 ive been using the whiteline rmm insert and its not that bad. Definitely stiffens up the drivetrain a bit and nvh is only really bad in reverse or when ac is on at idle. You should try it out
