WHYYYYY THE ORIGINAL MEGAMIND WAS PERFECT 😭
If you don't know, Peacock Kids is making two original Megamind sequels, a movie and a show. Unfortunately the animation, voice acting, writing, jokes, character designs, and general story concept show us that these are going to be very, very bad.

This version is stupid and full of himself, in a bad way. The Megamind we know and love did have similar statements, but it was still visible that he wasn't really a narcissistic idiot, unlike the new version, which is one. Another bit is the flash grenade one, I highly doubt Megamind would give a flash grenade to a kid in the first place, but if he did, it'd be because he forgot to label his party grenade with confetti (or something along the lines) and his flash grenade, and would try to take the grenade back. That's because the original Megamind was a good person, and the new one is a soulless buffoon, which by coincidence is exactly how You could describe Microcerebrum exchanges face slaps with the Bad Uncool Kids Club's executive producer.

I mean, in the first film, he was a bit that, but atleast not too much and in my face, and it did made sense since he used to be a villain and had a really tragic backstory. But in the 2nd movie, he seems like a full on egotist. Not to mention that for some reason he had that supposed past friend/ally group (The Doom Syndicate) despite the fact that they weren't even mentioned nor shown in the first film. One of Megamind's main reason for being evil is becuse he was constantly mistreated and left alone. So giving him those friends all the sudden Just butchers the lore. Also, Megamind doesn't seem to have an actual character arc in this sequel.

Here's how I would personally write the Plot of Megamind 2 : 1. Megamind catches some robbers or low rank villain but people started to comparing Megamind's era as city's hero with Metroman's era as city's hero (Because Metroman fight Megamind, an actual supervillain where Megamind just catch some robbers) 2. Megamind become lack in confidence because people's comparisson and started to think that he will never be as good as Metroman no matter how hard he try to imitate him 3. Megamind plan to create another supervillain to fight him but immediately cancel it because Tighten's case 4. Minion told Megamind to not compare himself with Metroman, because he and Metroman are different. 5. Minion then suggests Megamind to use to help citizen in their daily life, since it's his speciality 6. Megamind do as Minion suggests and uses his gadget to improve the city and people started to like him even more 7. Megamind became too ambitious and planned to turn the city into the most techologically advanced city in the world 8. The plan failed and the signal of his machine was caught in outer space by some alien from Megamind's race (His races are incredibly smart, there's no way his parent are the only one that save their kids) 9. That alien (Which i'm gonna call him Evilmind) track the signal and come to earth 10. Evilmind, just like Megamind was raised by space criminals. But unlike Megamind, Evilmind was actually evil 11. Evilmind learn about what happen to Megamind and convince him to join him. Saying that as the last of their races, they should stick together and they were born to be evil 12. Minion who saw Evilmind's scheme tries to warn Megamind but they got into an argument and Megamind accidentally blame Minion for the failed super city project. 13. Minion disappointed and turn to Roxanne for help. They then once again seek help from Metroman, but he still refused 14. Evilmind and Megamind started ruling the city with iron fist, but when Megamind just revert back to his old day as supervillian, Evilmind acted like Tighten which made Megamind realized his mistake 15. It was revealed that Evilmind planned to steal Metroman's power using Megamind's injection gun 16. Metroman's power got stollen by Evilmind and he became more powerful 17. Megamind still hae Tighten power and planned to inject Metroman with it. Metroman still refused at first, but he finally accept it after Megamind convince that it was just for this time and Evilmind destroy his hut 18. Megamind teamed up with Metroman to take down Evilmind. Metroman uses the injection gun to take back his power and Megamind uses different injection gun to decerase Evilmind's intelligence and minimize his head. 19. Megamind stop trying to imitate Metroman and uses his gadget for heroic duty and Metroman becomes a famous musician after his identity was revealed
