When everyone becomes an 'artist', the true artists will still be the odd ones out. Their creativity and vision, and genuine love for the craft. I can bet that 90% of the people engaged in the current ai art craze will stop creating altogether. They don't have the resilience artists have. We have gone through hell and back for our love of the craft. Those who want in because of the shortcut will not stand the pressure and competition. We have adapted when digital art became mainstream, we will adapt to this too.

yes, because most people care about the effort you put in a drawing and they pay commissions because they value the time you spent drawing what they want and not because they just can't draw it themselves due to it being a hobby that takes time to draw something that's actually good and that's without counting having to spend money on other things like a tablet made specifically for drawing to improve the quality. I mean yeah you can pretty much generate AI art for free but it takes some clicks to get something that's barely acceptable, AI can't even draw hands correctly! and it's clear that people from the real world with different motives, opinions and personalities who share something they like can be all put in the same group to compare them with a villain from an animated movie, I mean what kind of person likes something that's purely subjective to each person's opinion? they deserve the punishment that's coming to them! your comment is really inspirational and not at all biased, I just wish there were more people like you in the world

Since human artists are expensive to hire but generating images with AI is inexpensive and instant they know AI will win that competition by a landslide. So, they’re trying to convince everyone (including themselves) that their art has some magnificent invisible property which makes it inherently better than AI art and we should be their patrons instead of just using AI to make the exact same product for less time and money. It’s not a rational argument. This is an old story, humans have been designing machines which make labor easier, quicker, cheaper. @Churchgrimm2 ай бұрын
@@ilikecookies9796The vast majority of people who produce and sell art on the basis of passion likely have a day job that tangentially involves their art or doesn't involve it at all. The primary way AI Art actually affects many of those people is by companies profiting off of artist's work without proper compensation, which is simply an extension of an already existing problem, and arguably an instance of it that could prove easier to regulate than improper licensing/art theft overall. The industry that is going to be most affected by AI Art in some respects also has the most to gain from it: graphic design. AI Art has the potential to eliminate a lot of the ground level work in graphic design that constitutes an outsized portion of the designer's time. What will likely happen is that design firms will see productivity sky rocket while gig-industry graphic design work will become hyper competitive with a higher level of entry, as people who can't/won't integrate AI into their workflow have to bow out and the people who can/will now have to compete with other designers doing the same as well as purpose built algorithms in their price range. tl;dr Art for art's sake will be untouched, digital artists ironically might see a net benefit because of new regulation, part-time artists working out of passionate will be mostly unaffected, and graphic design will experience a shakeup and overall increased competition. The people who AI _really_ will suck for is entry-level programmers. Every high school counselor in the last decade told their students to enter computer science and the new threshold for entry-level is going to go WAY up with AI automated coding. It's going to be a significantly harsher job market for programmers. At the end of the day, there will always be a financially significant number of people who care that their art was made by human. Very, very few people care at all if the majority of a program was written by AI so long as it works well.

An uncreative prompter results in the ai having to guess or improvise or spit out generic nonsense, but a creative prompter knows exactly what they want and will learn the intricate ins and outs of how to get the ai to produce what is in the person's head, and that result is what will draw eyes. The focus will still be on the person controlling the ai more than the ai technology itself once we start getting truly remarkable pieces with phenomenal premise or structure, even if the ai is totally handling all the tiny little details. AI is great with filler detail and side-noise in art, but those are always branches of the tree. Only a person can plant a good seed that grows a solid trunk for everything else to sprout off of.

They go off-rail if you write anything too long, they cannot hold a storyline, and if you want to write a actual good story, you need to still have lots of writing experience to edit your story. Now, I AM going to bet that the people writing product descriptions and blog posts and such will be replaced, possibly the more unscrupulous news sources will employ it, but…it’s really not going to replace anything. @@m4x_g4mer90 you’re aware that prompts can be made arbitrarily complex, right? People will be able to write clichés out of the image
@m4x_g4mer902 ай бұрын
@@SigFigNewton well no, original concepts are a whole new level of difficulty ai models face mainly since they reference and can't create something new, and I'm also talking in writing, most of the time the ai will give me a trope with a lame and highly overused Backstory and is completely disconnected from the lore so I just no longer wanted to use the ai even if it could skip 90% of the work

Furry inflation latex tf artists who are charging 200 an hour and somehow still booked for the next 3 months: "AI what?"
@MasterBlek2 ай бұрын
Why are you talking about furries? This is about artists, not about some community. Who the hell charges 200 an hour??? The minimum is 20 dollars per hour, and when someone cries about it, that doesn't make him "right" because he sucks at math, it makes him stupid.

It's been obvious since deepfakes I think at current trajectories, we're basically shooting ourselves in the foot with 21st century technologies at an unbelievable capacity and soon enough we're gonna return to life before them. Laws needing older forms of testimony, physical art, buying less clothing and only the ones we need so we extract the earth less, more of us returning to farming because the current usage of fossil fuels and synthetic fertilizers/pesticides is completely unsustainable, you get the idea.

Ai generated images remind me of mass produced artwork sold at crate & barrel or Ikea, theres something kitschy about it even if i enjoy it visually. But the kitsch is enough that it feels not worth the price and leads me to gravitate towards going to more unique places for art.

Yeah, but if you could stop generalising the entirety within the singularity, that'd be nice too. AI is just a tool that could be misused, just like Photoshop and all the other things. What you saw was one of the greater examples of people that shouldn't be out there doing things at all. There are people who are just as bad in legitimate drawing (the fact that I have to split these apart says a lot...), like that one time there was an artist going around "fixing" other people's artworks when they actually weren't. I think you know EXACTLY which person I'm talking about. There are people that use AI for the fun of it (or say... people who write code for fun, or make hand-crafts for fun), and then you have people... like the One Piece malice guy... who do atrocious things like that. That's a 'ptui' on the ground if I could. In your words, saying "put them back in their place" would mean "yeah, this girl didn't want to date me, so i will now assume all women are this bad and will forever hate them". Bastardised generalisation isn't fun or quirky, alright?

Us animators, both amateur and professional, we will suffer this if we haven't already. To think years of doing animation out of skill, dedication, and care, will mean nothing to jobs related to that and will instead be replaced with AI that will do it for people is just nuts. Its not just fucking lazy, it's disheartening to the fullest extent. Instead of people that do what they love and are skilled and experienced at, we'll be replaced with AI that can create animation easily. It doesn't feel the pain we do when we animate, and it doesn't celebrate what it made afterward. It does not feel the well earned pride after fixing an error or creating an animation you take love for. It will be indifferent and it will not care. For AI, its just Monday or any other day of the week and when its asked "Make me an animation," it will do just that, but without ANY of the qualities that makes animating an art. And that fact is what makes me heated and sad. But don't make me go into people DEFENDING THIS CRAP. That is just absolutely absurd in its own right

I don't know that it will replace animators? Indie animation is on the rise, becoming more and more viable, and art for art's sake is the entire point of indie stuff. I'm sure shitty corporations will be glad to not have to pay real artists (especially for something as expensive and time-consuming as animation), but with how they treat the artists they have now... is that really a job you want? Plus, with all this controversy, them using AI to make their movies might even end up being their undoing (assuming they haven't dug their own graves already).

what about shoemakers, carpenters, creators of plates and glasses and textile makers, manufacturers of household appliances, doesn't even matter to you if these products are made with heart and soul or if, on the contrary, they are manufactured by a machines, what difference is there between all of those mentioned above? and the art?
@mrwhatshisname25262 ай бұрын
@qcxk_23 with respect, you're going a bit off topic here to me. You see, what you seemingly are referring to isn't AI, but manufacturing machines. A solid difference between those two is that an AI does what it's asked to. But a machine does what it's made for, because that's all their purpose is. What I get from your comment isn't a solid argument or even an argument. Honestly, I don't think you know what you're talking about
