Code's story isn't based off of a backstory. His story IS forming right now He embodies someone who's a failure, a tool being used, and someone who doesn't get needed love and affection, Just give them time to flesh his story out.

The fact that he’s not menacing is adorable and makes him stand out to me. I kinda feel like he’s going to be the one Boruto villian that turns out to be a good guy. Talk no jutsu could probably easily work on code but it seems like no one ever even tried to just talk to him and show him love like Naruto did Kawaki, I’m assuming his backstory is probably very similar

There is reason why Code invade Konoha. He wants to lure Boruto from hiding. He got grudge against Boruto and he is Otsutsuki Ishiki successor who has same goal to cultivate Chakra Fruit.

I do like this video, but I do want to give some of my thoughts. 1. As for as pacing goes, I do think that what they did for chapter 1 was the right idea. Code attacking the leaf and Boruto's return was something that was set up in part 1. Obviously, there's some context that we're missing, like why Code thinks that attacking the village would lure Boruto however those are things that could be explained in later chapters. For a first chapter, and Boruto specifically, it is important for your 1st chapter to start off with a bang. An exposition/set up heavy chapter wouldn't have that effect imo. 2. I can understand the frustration with Code, but I do think people are a bit too harsh on his character. With every defeat, he does grow from it. After losing to Kawaki, he got his limiters removed. After losing to Daemon, he created an army. Code became more and more powerful after every encounter. He'll eventually get his W, although I don't think it will be right now because Kishimoto wants to leave more room for him to grow throughout part 2. He's a villain that works as long as you have other antagonists for the protagonist to deal with while he cooks in the background. In this case Code isn't the only big bad, there's also Konoha which funny enough are the antagonists of this story since we're following Boruto and they want him dead.

Code attacking Village to lure Boruto makes perfect sense considering in the code arc,kawaki was pleading code to not attack the village and spare the village in exchange for his life!! And in code's mind Boruto is kawaki,so he remembers Boruto's pleading code to not attack the village!!

Sumire isn't an active combat ninja anymore btw. She's more of a scientist assistant. SO her outfit doesn't need to be ninja like BUT ALSO HOW DARE WITH THE HIMAWARI FIT SLANDER IT'S CHIC. IT SCREAMS _GIRLHOOD._ AND I WON'T STAND FOR ANY OF IT It's the one that I think really portrays her character really well. Even as a child, in the anime, she wears cute colors and a tutu. It's so her to be cool and cute at the same time; the crop top, baggy bottoms w the belt trend, the bangles, the _choker._ is so late 90's and early 2000's. A fusion of old and new. And I think it's so well balanced, shape language-wise. So my eyes really gravitate to her design whenever she's on panel. And esp when you draw her?? SO satisfying. The baggy pants crop top portrays dynamism really well, and the break of shapes with her midriff creates clarity within action. It's great. A treat for a a fanartist really. And honestly what do u guys want for her 😭 what would you have done to make it "better" But I agree Shikadai looks like a chode lmao. I also thought he looks like a gym teacher.

This was just my first impression. Himawari's design has grown on me! I still think its overall a little bland but I understand it fits her character well.

To clarify Boruto's anatomy: his pants were just baggy lol. Anatomy-wise, the proportions were right. Top (from head to upper hips) and bottom (hips to feet) were the same length, the hand reaches up to mid-thigh (tho maybe just an inch longer, which crosses the "unnatural" feeling). But the perspective and pose made it look wonky upon closer look. I feel like if we lower or lift the "camera" just a tad more, it'll look better. Bc I think what they tried to do is put our eye-level to their hips, but Ikemoto drew them at a higher level so we could still see the top of their feet, when it should've been looking closer to a front-view since we're lower. Does that make sense? Just a bit of an art critique. But one thing I will emphasize is Ikemoto's master in anatomy and dynamic poses (tho he does love to exaggerate them. I like that too, it's really fun to push the anatomy to its limit before it looks unnatural - and even if it does look unnatural, sometimes that's just a stylistic choice lol). So I always roll my eyes when non-artists on twitter claim his anatomy is off so confidently, as a desperate attempt to discredit him, when they can't even replicate how he draws the forearm (which I love how he draws it) much less his hands and fingers! He _was_ a bit wonky with the head anatomy sometimes. But I prefer to not criticize that bc 1. It's a proven fact that we most of the time draw anatomy in the image of ourselves. So I don't wanna call him a bighead indirectly LMAO. And 2. He's getting better every time and that's just milage doing it's thang, so imma let it. They do say nothing like having a comic to speedrun improvement (no really, look at every manga you've read and tell me it never changes). edit: another thing! Ikemoto's wonky heads is tied to the fact that he's an old man and is more comfortable drawing characters with beards if you've noticed lol. Till today I think Amado's design is one of the coolest. All his baby faces tend to look the same bc, as artist it's easy to fall into same face syndrome when it's not in ur image or ur just not used to drawing that type of character. Oc this doesn't apply to every artist. But I kin with Ikemoto with this problem.

I find it hard to agree when I gave 4 whole paragraphs and all you could say that it's simply bad without evidence. And don't be mistaken. I looked into more of his works outside of Boruto to confidently say it isn't bad. My eyes are trained to spot skills and technique. If not, then my teacherz have failed me. And my works and studies redundant. And it's easy to counter the baggy pants argument when you can clearly see him draw legs on other characters. So. No.

You didn't hear that Boruto anime will get 40 episodes of Boruto/Sasuke leaving the village, that's why they didn't include it in the manga, because it would take too long, the manga is a monthly manga. If you want more details, you should focus more in the anime not in the manga.The pacing is great

I think the anime will keep the original designs for Boruto and kawaki or maybe only Boruto and will change the designs for most others too...like they will for sure change sarada's design after seeing the back lash... They might change cho-chos design too...

@@andrewgarfield1421 They won't change Sarada design, considering they left Eida's design perfectly intact, Pierrot tries to remain faithful to Ikemoto's designs ever since adapting mujina bandits. They also don't have another design to pull from. The design itself isn't revealing enough for them to censor it. As for every single character, if Nishio is still the CD then he will simplify them so that they will be easier to animate. For example, Shikamaru's cloak will have triangles instead of fire, like they did with Naruto in the anime.

I mean honestly speaking that jacket always hanging down the shoulder is the most annoying part for me too...When the design first came out I was like maybe this was her the time when she was putting it on,that's why the jacket is down...But when the chapter came out I was disappointed that it was hanging down...Not because it was revealing or anything,it just felt off that's all!! Also when I said they will change the design I didn't mean a complete makeover like part 1 but instead ,small changes like her actually putting the jacket up and giving her a chain instead of a choker... The fact that eida didn't get any hate was because by the time she was introduced she was already 16 and she isn't a shinobi like sarada... Anyways that's it!!Have a good day!!
