Yeah, I'm of the opinion that there's no way to do goth "wrong" because it's so varied...but this isn't really enough for "Galore" to be in the name of the kit. This is a small snippet of a specific aesthetic (although I do appreciate the variations of underlayer textures instead of it all being the same fishnet).

Literally. Like there's a reason why there's so many different gothic styles (hence why it's a category). Like it's not just the same outfit but a different colour! Like take CyberGoth for example, way different to the classic gothic look or even Romantic goth, you can't just slap another colour on it and call it a day!

idk, when I think of goth I usually think of 90's goth, spiky hair, big sleeves, definitely the boots they included in game too, but also gothic Lolita would've been cool, the cas in this is giving very blade/underworld vibes which isn't necessarily bad just I would've liked more variety in other gothic genres

I'm a ex goth of 8 years (just changed styles but still love the goth subculture), this kit is abysmal. Majority of these clothes are Cybergoth, Metal head or just regular alt styles which there's already plenty in the game for clothing. Actual Goth clothing would be Trad goth or romantic goth ya know the style aspect of being a goth in the first place. Honestly the lack of accessories and no hairstyles is shocking, as the game lacks gothic hairstyles at all and personally i had to download maxis match hair styles to get actual decent gothic hairstyles. Yeah sure the vampire pack had some but that was more Victorian goth. The makeup is horrible (which i'm not surprised EA always messes up the make up) and honestly i just feel like this pack is a sham as usual for EA. Goths have had a giant role in the sims, both style, theming and lore wise but for them to put this little effort into this pack about goths is honestly shows how little research they do into the clothing styles, trends or anything.

It was the community pick for a stuff pack along with medevil; otherwise id imagine Maxion would have went no where near the style choice. Personally, i'd say 1 or 2 colour swatch options cannot possiblely be classed as covering a entire sub-group of fashion, its more likely they just made the pink and rainbow swatches to cover players who want the clothing style but not the black/dark colour.

As a goth, I hoped for more Trad Goth clothes than the Nu Goth we got, but I still like it. Also Goth wasn't at its peak in the late 2000s, Goth originated in the 70s-80s so you could argue the millennials also stole the original Goth stuff lol but on a more serious note, Goth is music based so you can be Goth and dress like an everyday basic person as long as you listen to the music, a lot of us just like adding darker elements to our clothes🖤

Goth is a ~50 year old subculture and there's a lot of different fashion styles that have picked up over the years, I didn't really expect them to cover all of them because it's so diverse. So it makes sense they went with something "safe" instead of making something really robust (which, really would be so much better though). That being said I am SO disappointed there is NO HAIR??? I guess I will have to continue to depend on the mod community to get what I want out of this game lol

I'm goth and I think most of the things in this kit are alright. You're right though - we needed some gothic hair. I would cry if they'd actually give us cyberlox, but even if not something that niche there are a lot of options. I can't believe we didn't have a simple spiked bracelet in the game till this time and even now you have to pay for it to be in the game, it's crazy if you ask me. Also there should've been more white swatches - unlike baby blue and pastel pink white goth is actually a thing. Another thing that would be great to add to this kit is some drawn eyebrows.

However if they wanted to implement pastel goth stuff as it was stated here already it's not quite the same aesthetic as things in this kit. You're not doing it wrong, it's just the more modern style. You can almost pin the goth style to it's accessories Nu goth: buckles and studs. Victorian/Lolita goth: Ruffles and bows. Cyber goth: Plastic tubes and neon colours, Pastel goth: Pastel colours and more cutesy look and so on. Omg... Steampunk goth: bolts and gears! Lol I never thought of that before xD It's about the music btw so that's why so many styles exist and it's still goth.

A lot of the clothes are very...punk? From what I understand, gothic people really cover themselves up and wear a ton of layers, so this was something? I was really hoping for a romantic goth style or for kit to have Cassandra be the Victorian goth she truly is PS, I was hoping for some Lolita goth too 😭

Layers are definitely important. Us Goths are vampires, we'll burn in the sun. 🧛🏻‍♀️😂 It also depends. The style of this has "bondage" elements which is not necessarily Goth, more for the club-goer, fetish demographic, but it's often associated with the Goth fashion because EDM overlaps into Goth music a lot.

My sister was "goth" in high school. Black parachute pants with some red or green trim near some seams and chains dangling from her belt loops. 4 alternated overly large black hoodies. 3 in platform boots (that i later got hold of and used for cosplay). That style slowly changed to the "emo" style, which was base black but oddly colorful. Clothing much tighter and more revealing,. Mpre striking makeup and piercings. There was one girl a grade below me who went emo and she wore black short skirts but almost neon bright tops and her hair was always either streaked pink, green, or blue with a very messy appearance. She also had maybe 3 brow piercings, two lip, 1 nose, and a few ear piercings. In our school, goths were "everything in life is darkness, happiness isn't real, don't be a sheep" and the emo group was "i'm cool and edgy, a rebellious teen, and the moment i'm allowed i'm getting a tattoo"

I just got the Castle set and there are like. 5 things. One wall, one floor, a column, spandrels, stairs, two railings, a stone relief wall artwork, and a beam. At least it has doors and windows for every height, can make nice churches but not really castles. Disappointed at how few stained glass options there are when they mention it in the description. The description says it 'even includes a gargoyle!' It looks like a horse and is not rooftop, it's a wall beam with the gargoyle underneath. If you scroll through the kits objects, it's severely lacking compared to the others despite having all the potential. I would have expected some roof textures, especially some gem tone oddly shaped shingles with patterns like they casually included in World Adventures. A roof trim that looks like stone gutters and some roof objects like corner gargoyles. Flying buttresses. I can't remember if one fence looked like battlements but if it did it didn't leave an impression on me, so I'll add it to the wishlist as well. And again, more stained glass and different lead patterns. They only have knightly imagery. What about some more elvish landscapes, or something a bit deco, or some sort of Watcher references. Some square versions of the arched windows so I can place one below the other and have it seem tall, thin and continuous. They're also missing arrow slits to make proper towers (Sims 1 Makin' Magic had them). Some hedges would have been nice, maybe a drawbridge style door (they have a toothed arch often associated with a drawbridge but not good enough). What about 'carpets' of stone engravings like the round one in Sims Medieval? Remember when Sims 2 University casually had a Medieval furniture set specifically so they have stuff to place in one of their secret society houses? The closest thing we have is Vampires stuff. Creeping ivy would have been nice. Yes we have some but they are better for 1 storey and I would like grapeviney ones that can have thin tall segments. There should have been candle lighting. Especially metal chandeliers. Altar objects and wall notches matching the stone wallpaper? So much missed potential. The current price of this kit in my home currency is the same as Sims 1 Makin' Magic, and I'm willing to bet I can make better castles with the latter's content. Not to mention that pack has had the most replayability of any Sims pack for me besides Sims 3 Ambitions. Accounting for inflation, Sims 1 is more of a score than Sims 4 with kits.

YES. god, i wish there was more medieval looking furniture in the sims, there's so much mid century modern and suburbia adjacent stuff and it's an actual struggle to make what i actually want to. Even the church i made with the castle pack doesn't look churchy, but that's because i feel like we're missing so much when it comes to that theme that it would be a struggle to make it look any better than it currently does.

I've been a goth since early 2000s and I honestly hoped for so much more (and better) in a kit that's literally called "Goth Galore (!)". There are so many different sub-genres within goth culture the possibilities could've been endless, but oh well. The crop-top swatches with and without sleeves are kinda nice though.

I'm pretty disappointed but not surprised, the kits usually don't have that much stuff, but goth fashion has so much to offer. There's so many different types of goth and I would've loved to see more trad goth representation in this kit, like to have a full on 80s goth hairdo a la The Cure and Siouxsie would've been so cool. I wish they'd have sought out more inspiration from people who have a lot of knowledge about this fashion subculture. Most of this stuff just looks like softcore bondage to me and I could point to several items that look like the stuff in other packs and base game.

I actually once purchased a pack twice due to an error. After buying it flr the first time, it didn't appear in my library and didn't let me download it, so I thought that the purchase didn't happen at all. I contacted to EA customer service and they gave me a refund so that I got back the money from the second purchase. The thing is that you need to wait for a week until the transaction is complete. It's annoying when it happens because it's never happened to me when using other platforms such as steam😅

I think the reasoning for the pink is this: Gurokawa (グロカワ), also known as "Creepy Cute" in the West, is a Japanese aesthetic that is characterized by a juxtaposition of Kawaii visuals with grotesque elements and morbid humor. It is similar to Pastel Goth (which it inspired) except without the traditional Gothic elements.

the first top immediately reminded me of the sims 3 fishnet shirt.. i used that FOR EVERY SIM. an adult sim who works in the army? the red fishnet top, a teenager who is a nerd? the blue fishnet top. every single sim. why was i so obsessed with it? especially the stripey version 💀

I just wish they had gotten some goth inspiration from actual goths, instead of going on Pinterest or Google Images for inspiration. Like, nothing wrong with that as basic research but goth as a subculture is far more than the clothes and the "vibe". Not to mention the subcultures, like Cyberpunk, Pastel, Lolita etc.

Could / should this pack have had more? Yes, as always. But as a fan of darker gothic-esque (edgy) styles I do like the things we got a lot. Everything from the clothes to the make-up will get used a lot in my game!

I absolutely hate that The Sims puts different meshes hidden in the swatches. I want more choice, not less and I want more ease in finding things, not less. I don't want to be required to memorize every swatch of every mesh or search through them if I can't remember each time I need to create a new outfit. If anything, I want them to break up the color swatches on the meshes a bit more. I want the clothing to have a different selector for the metal than there is for the fabric, etc. I'm not asking for the full choice we had in Sims 3 but I just want to be able to actually choose between the swatches for each part of the mesh... Imagine if we could pick the bed frame separate from the mattress, separate from the pillows, separate from the bedding.

I love the idea and the kit pieces are really nice - but i would have loved them to have made this a game pack they could have done so much more. they could have added new traits added more hair more outfits and a new location to hangout in. and the decor!!!!! now we have to make all those things work with other packs which still don't hit the mark for this taste.

I think the meshes are well made and look of good quality. I'm super excited about the leather jacket! Now my biker self (and my dad) can finally have proper leather jackets. Been using the Moschino one which is cute but cropped a bit and not biker

Since, I use paypal on EA and for some godly unknown reason they charged me twice. Best believe I was blowing up that customer help, I ended up getting a refund pretty easy but not before blowing out some steam.

I really like the nu goth sort of style in this kit as opposed to the trad goth style we got in Vampires because of the variety it brings, but I do think that they could have done a lot more with it. It feels very...can't afford to buy $70 goth clothing, so they bought their stuff from Hot Topic or SHEIN, if that makes sense (which I get, I've been there lol). The makeup is kind of an insult tbh like what is that "I've been drunk crying in the public bathroom all night" look. But nitpicks aside, I'll probably grab this kit for myself because it's very difficult to find well-made goth CC of any kind, especially for male sims - although I really feel like the male clothing in this pack would only suit a teenager or very young adult who's trying to figure out what he likes to wear before committing a large amount of money to the style

It's giving "2000s mallgoth" in the worst way. I would have happily traded out the chunky club kid boots (of which we now have five pairs across all the packs, for some reason?), the arm warmers, and one of the overly-buckled tops for even ONE pair of winklepickers and a new hairstyle - a teased bob or a deathhawk would have been nice. Also, I want to know who it was that decided on the word "galore", because it's usage here is a glaring misnomer. lol
