Awww Mayy don't let it get you down! I also constantly fluctuate between really good skin, and then really bad hormonal cystic acne too, so you're definitely not alone. The thing I've learned is to manage my expectations with the time of my cycle, and also gauge my eating habits because I found those two things are the biggest things that determine when and why my skin is doing more terrible in some days and fine in other times. So it's all natural, we're all on this learning journey together! - fel x

I’ve read a LOT about hormonal acne because last year i had a MAJOR -never seen before- situation that literally destroy me right in the middle of summer. I started taking vitex berry(supplement) with omega -3 and zinc and on my third month my skin was only scars without new ones coming in!!!! it literally changed my life also, the basics: i changed my face wash & pillows every other day - and stopped washing my face with cleanser in the morning (just water) even tho i am oily, but i am also eczema prone so it helped with flaky skin to keep those morning oils in!!

I was consistently on my routine and just when i thought my skin was getting better i had my worst breakout ever! I got little bumps almost (white head like) on my chin down to my neck. Some gets inflamed and red with pustules. I assume it is irritation from wearing masks all day everyday and bacteria build up but i also think its mixed with hormonal acne 😥 Should i continue to incorporate AHA/BHA? or keep it on the calming/soothing and moisturizing side?
@BeautyWithin2 жыл бұрын
heellooo my dear! aww nuuu I know how this feels too! It definitely could be the fact that the mask is pooling bacteria and sweat and oils together causing breakouts. What I might suggest is if you know you're going to be wearing masks for a long time that day, use products that are soothing and also lightweight in consistency so it doesn't clog the pores throughout the day. Then afterwards to have a really good but gentle cleanse, and I would still keep the AHA/BHA toner or serum that you're using in your routine maybe 3-4 times per week, and always using soothing and calming ingredients within that same routine so that it's all harmoniously working together. Sometimes the inflammed skin can be lifestyle things too, like diet (e.g. excess processed foods, sugars, not enough fibre etc.) which can cause these skin conditions to flare up, so just try to keep everything balanced, and I'm sure it will go down in a couple of weeks with consistency :) Hope this helps a little! You got this hehe - Fel x

This sounds like a reaction to a specific ingredient almost. I take CoQ10 supplements for my Mitochondrial Myopathy and apparently I can't use any skincare products with ubiquinol or CoQ10 in them because whenever I have it causes these little whitehead looking things along my jawline and neck area that r painful, red and pustule-like, much like u described. It has always within 3-7 days when they show up from a reaction for me.
