I am with you on the no-dairy-better-skin train! Dairy is in EVERYTHING! But when I swapped out for Oatmilk, Oatmilk creamer, almond cream cheese, almond yogurt - it made the world of difference in my skin. I'm a Registered Dietitian - and I can vouch for the liver and brassica link - it works too!! Something to keep in mind - it can take 3 months for changes you are doing now to show up on your skin. So keep on trying don't give up! Great video!!!

Dairy is delicious. No nut milk could replace the taste of dairy, but I agreed with you. I once had too many pimples, but after I tried dairy-free diet, my skin were much clearer than ever.

This is the best video on acne skin care I’ve ever seen in my life! Thank you so much for sharing this information with everyone and much needed. I went through all of these problems and found that every point that you have made is what I had to learn in my twenties the hard way with my acne journey: reducing refined sugars, dairy and caffeine intake. Eating more veggies and drinking water, gentle exfoliation and cleansing, and moisturizing have all been my saving grace. However, in my journey I have also found that anti-bacterial cleansers like charcoal cleansers and the lowest percentage of benzoyl peroxide 2.5% spot treatment (which has the lowest level of irritation and applied nightly only) have also been extremely helpful. Regular laundry of pillows, blankets and facial towels has also been very helpful.

I’ve dealt with acne for my entire adult life. Fel’s journey is so relatable. I too tried skincare, oral medication, supplements and everything else under the sun. In the end, a Keto diet is what did the trick. If anyone is reading this, desperate like so many of us have been for a “cure”, I really recommend Keto. Try it and I hope it is the “miracle” it was for me.

For me now, I discovered the most factor that leads me to breakout is the weather in my country... I live in hot & humid weather all throughout the year. My skin truly doesn't belong here. I can sweat easily and that makes my skin super super oily. One thing I learned the most from Fel is all skin type need hydration. It really is the key for balanced skin. Currently I'm still looking for hydrating serum that was super light and not goopy.

Thank you soooo much for this, oh my gosh 😭 I haven't been formally diagnosed with PCOS, but considering what my doctor has recommended and tests she's done with me, I'm pretty sure that's what she thinks I have. The weird thing is my hormone levels were completely normal, but my inflammation markers were high. This journey you've been on is the one right in front of me right now, to clean up my diet and nutrition and hopefully lower inflammation as well. I definitely jumped head-first into it right away, only to crash and burn just as quickly as I started and swear off the diet, meanwhile my symptoms just keep getting worse. I'm trying to take a more gradual approach this time and just as you said, try enjoying veggies and do a little at a time, making it fun and not a militaristic "yes" or "no", which is difficult as I'm really good at being really hard on myself 😅 Anyway, all this rambling to say from the bottom of my heart that I'm so grateful to you for sharing your story with us, and that it's so nice to hear from someone who's had success with not just your skin, but your overall health too 💖 It really means a lot to me, lol 😅

I don't know if I have PCOS, I've had one doctor tell me I have it but then the next doctor told me that I didn't. I've recently come off the contraceptive pill (which regulates my hormones) and when I'm not on the pill I have pretty bad hormonal acne and oily skin. I've been on a caloric deficit diet for around 3 weeks to try and lose weight but I've also noticed a massive difference in my skin while on this diet - it's a lot less oily (a tolerable level of oily now), barely any breakouts and pretty much haven't got any cystic acne yet too. I (and my skin) couldn't agree more that cutting carbs/sugar really does help with regulating my crazy hormones! Although I've only been off the contraceptive pill for a few months so I'll see how my skin is later down the track but I'm feeling quite hopeful.

And mid day I get my vegetable smoothie ON 😎😎😎 and at night I make sure to take my probiotics and middday I have my matcha with collagen! I love to add stuff throughout the day like almonds, chia seeds, flaxseeds and such. I’m trying to find the best balance. And it’s all a trial and error!

I kinda lied to myself that whole time bc i simply didn’t want to let down my cheese (i’m French😋) but now i’m not turning back. And just like you said, you really learn to enjoy what you eat knowing that it’s doing much good to yourself ❤️

totally relatable when you move to other country and your skin somehow got worse?? it happens to me when I studying in UK and the water there is hard. I got acne almost everyday 😭 and it's so hard to get rid off. my PIH was never fade. and the milk there taste soooo fatty (but it's delicious lol). once I back home, my skin was healing and PIH is fading too... i used to drink milk every day and yeah that contributed to acne. but once I stop (while I was in UK) it's actually have some changes. altho I still consume some dairy products that has milk in it. it's ok than just consume milk as a whole. I also notice when I eat cheese, my skin would react and one pimple will appear next day 😓

Dairy and sugar for me is the most difficult ones to be free from it. I absolutely love those two, but I once had dairy-free and less sugar diet and it did miracles on my skin. Too bad I didn't practice it until now since I can't live wihout boba milk tea, but I limit my dairy intake like once/twice per month.

Whole video I was waiting for Felicia to mention stress level. I guess, no matter how healthy you eat, if you have, say, anxiety disorder, it will affect your hormones. Of course, eating healthy is important for good skin but your psychological state goes first anyway. Felicia mentioned that you need to enjoy what you are eating but this is just a part of you-need-to-be-relaxed thing. Maybe, when Felicia moved to New York her stress level increased and that partially could cause emotional overeating. This theory about our brain likes unhealthy food is... wrong to me. Our brain likes easy ways to distract. When we are stressed, it is much easier to eat some treat instead of cooking something healthier. Healthy food can be delicious. So it is just about your habit and emotional condition. I think, being relaxed and cool is vital in general, not only for skin =)

I just had acne as a teen but not as an adult, however my brother continues to suffer with adult acne and uses differin gel. I don't eat dairy or unhealthy food and also am on a contraceptive pill that's anti-androgenic so that's probably why I don't get acne, in addition to the fact that my skin is mega dry without a spec of oil. I heard Whey protein also leads to acne, which my brother drinks and probably makes it worse

Rewatching this trying hard to change my diet the only thing that has helped is the roaccutane but my diet stil needs to change. I eat great during breakfast and lunch mums fresh cooking I'm indian asian so fresh fish veg and meat n spices but it's the night time snacking that gets me. Crisps and sweets are my weakness as is anything fried, but I was determined. So I changed to oat milk for breakfast for my cereal and said no to fried chicken! I had to leave the room to stop myself but I still did. Still gotta my my night habits and I've made a vow to stop eating past 7pm sometimes it's hard so I've now got miso soup to stop the late night cravings. 2022 is looking bright (hopefully!)

@bliplee
@bliplee 2 жыл бұрын
I personally don't feel that with the Cerave lotion, but I know exactly what you're talking about -- I had an experience like that with another moisturizer in the past, and that made me realize the product just wasn't for me. I don't think it's normal or good to have a lotion you use every day to make you feel hot and uncomfortable. It could be that it's too heavy for your skin, or maybe there's an ingredient that your skin just doesn't like. I would recommend trying out a different lotion for sure. You want something you're going to use every day to feel effortless. I have combo skin so I'm not sure I would have a good recommendation for you, but I always love water-cream type moisturizers. They're not too heavy, but make my skin feel hydrated and moisturized after. Krave has an Oat water cream moisturizer that's really nice. Iunik is also affordable and has a couple of good options for moisturizer, they have a centella gel-cream moisturizer and regular beta-glucan cream moisturizer also. Hope this helps! And if the cerave doesn't work for your face, it might work for your body! Always good to repurpose : )

I cleared up my skin (except on my period) by taking out dairy (except creamer in coffee), vitamin supplements, only washing face at night and serums in morning (literally just nicinamide & vitamin C)… biggest game changer for me is fresh aloe Vera! I found it balances your skins PH and it’s been a holy grail for me…. Now I just need to fit out how to prevent the random pimples on my period. I’m trying to incorporate veggie smoothies and see how that goes. Also, my skin was amazing, until I started eating white bagels again and cottage cheese. I got a couple bad blind pimples that hurt so much. Watched these videos and right in the trash they went lol
