I really should be dead! Coming off the road during Targa Tasmania in 2011, doing 190km/hr, my Evo 9 flew 35 metres through the air and luckily landed in a paddock before stopping some 400 metres later. We both walked away.
No more targa rallying for me.

Your navigator is a trooper! Out of curiosity if the car was still running why did you stop? Was that your first accident? Were you shocked by it?

@@KymIllman killed you? How so? Was the car not well protected? It seemed to me like you had a proper cage, but it's always hard to tell in videos. I've had and have seen worse accidents than that and have come uninjured from them. Roll cages are awesome.

Holyyy.... that shit blew me away... i once had an accident but this is like a whole different thing 😰. Like... i know it doesn’t look that crazy, but its just like the gforces in F1, from the outside it doesn’t look that bad. Glad you and your co-driver got away :)

Just 'wow' on so many levels. It was, in retrospect, rather fortunate that you *weren't* turning when you left the road. You landed on four wheels (OK, two, then the other two :) ) but if a turn was in process you could have easily rolled the car. "Nasty" indeed!

@@KymIllman Australia definitely has not 'banned rallying' Targas are getting a lot harder to run, and may well fade out (and imo are on the way out, which could be a good thing, they cause a lot of problems which then get transferred over to gravel) but gravel rallying is still going quite strong! It needs more new blood in it, and some tlc, but defo isn't going anywhere just yet!

The roll cage, 6 point belts, winged seats and HANs do the same job as air bags, but much better. There is no need for them, they would be no help!

IT12Gaming rally is by far more dangerous. I only did about 10 rallies put four people died in those 10 rallies.

@@KymIllman but anytime when I see moto go races I see drivers coming off there bikes in a accident but also in WRC there is dangerous corners that can kill drivers. Did you remember how Jules Bianchi done his accident in 2014 also when Antoine Hubert was killed in spa
