So good to end on a high note! The bucking is because Lily is getting tired and losing balance, and it hurts his back to keep her on him after a workout like that. A good thing for him might be to turn him out in the arena and let him 'goof off', run around and get those bucks out, stretch/shake/roll. Also a good reward for him, instead of treats. This was a great lesson. A good thing for Lily would be a glass of water (electrolytes) and about a 10 minute comfortable walk.

I think there's bees in that one spot in the pasture. I saw something flying around in that area. Lily you are such a good rider and Blaze is a darling pony. You are quite the team!

Now that you mentioned the bees and I watched the video again, it definitely could be why he bucked in the same place several times. No indication of bucking in any other area of the ring. I ran into a bunch of ground bees many years ago and it wasn't fun!

Blaze is such a great pony for Lily. So much better than Peaches. I would suggest a mounting block for those times when riding bareback or without stirrups. I used to have a two-step folding step ladder that I used for mounting. Folded up nicely to put in the trailer and was always available for other uses as needed.

Miss Lily, I think Blaze wants you to balance yourself with good posture instead of using your stirrups to balance. You did an excellent job without stirrups. Remember your posture when using stirrups.

Agree, I think Lilly would benefit from a larger horse now she has a ton more experience under saddle (such a natural rider)
