I think it depends on the roommate, you, and your schedules. But you can go for a single if you are worried about your space.

There is free movement from 5AM to 9:30 for first-year UG and till 11 for the rest on MIT campus. Changes for Wagsha and KMC

It depends, if you want a new block 18 and 19, but if you dont want to walk a lot then 14, 15, 16 and 17

First Year UG compulsorily stay on campus. It is strict because of covid, was chill prior
