John Boyle I do my best! I used to be a certified small engine mechanic and have also been working on things at home with my step dad since I was little. We’re currently working on our own ‘62 Corvair restoration (he’s wanted a corvair for a long time) but unfortunately after 4 heart attacks, a triple bypass surgery, and being diabetic, he won’t be able to drive it even when completed as he’s not in the condition to drive anymore. Partly because he’s completely blind in one eye and losing vision in his other, but he’s the one who taught me everything I know about making these repairs and handed down his tools and box to me, and taught me all the things in relation to towing/backing trailers and hauling things and just how important is to be safe about everything and always taught me from a young age the importance of not only using enough load straps, but also the importance of hooking them to secure points. It’s because of him though that I know how to do my own repairs in a parking lot. The truck didn’t NEED the idler arm and pitman arm yet, but once I saw how worn they were I decided it was time to suck it up and just get it done, especially while in a warm climate before returning to the cold climate back home in Wisconsin. It felt good though to finally just suck it up and get all those repairs done. I have to admit though with the hard miles I’ve put on this truck it’s hardly asked for a single thing beyond oil changes! I’d say that’s pretty good for a truck that’s older, has over 300,000 miles, and is being used for this type of work. But it’s all in the maintenance!!!

Trekking With TB Thanks! This one definitely isn’t one of my best ones but it’ll hopefully get better when I do research on what real camera would be good and what editing software would me good. Right now I use my old iPhone 8+ and iMovie which seems to be half way decent for editing

Justins Car Reviews No, I ended up selling it when the transmission let go at 383,000 original miles. OD spline finally stripped out and kept plugging the filter with metal shavings and I didn’t have a way or the money to flush it all out and just run without OD. Replaced the filter and it would last for another half hour or so of driving before acting like it was in neutral which is why I knew the filter kept getting plugged up.
