Joel Everytbing isn’t the best, but yes I am working on another video. I’ve been busy with a lot of stuff at home and whatnot and haven’t had much time to sit down and get the video processed. I’m trying to get it completed today though with another one on the way after that!

I would have fixed that front strap that she was having trouble with on the front driver side that connected to the front passenger side of the pickup. It looks like it was twisted and I would not have left at like that and would have started over. Just my suggestion. You don't want to have the straps going in there crooked or twisted and you should show her how to pull the straps. So it is straight while she was trying to tighten it up. Also, it will make it more difficult to put pressure on the ratchet of the strap when it is Twisted as well. You got to make sure the straps are flat.

You should always hook into the D- rings if you can
@lawnboy81SMS4 жыл бұрын
jason scales These ones are home made and bend when you put any pressure on them. Once I find someone with a good welder I’ll get real ones and weld them on

Going to cut his straps to crap doing it how he's doing it and never put the straps in a vehicle the wind will make them rub the paint and that's a insurance claim I always chain trucks
@lawnboy81SMS4 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Hudson I’ve never had straps rub paint off a car doing it that way. Also the trailer doesn’t have a sharp edge there so it won’t cut the strap. And if it did I check them regularly and always keep extras. They’re not even $10 a strap for those ones. But I can’t do anything until I can get my hands on a welder to weld on real d-rings, not the ones someone made at home with thin steel rod and welded on that bend as soon as you put pressure on them. For right now, edge of the trailer is the safest/only spot I can put straps without access to a welder.

How do you find decent paying loads on u-ship? It seems like they’re all brokered, but the brokers I’ve spoken to about freight guard won’t work with it.
@lawnboy81SMS4 жыл бұрын
Josh Dobin It’s tough but they’re out there. All depends on the area. Some customers are word of mouth, others get smart and search my company name after I put a quote in so they can find me outside uShip. They suck though because they’ll constantly flag any questions if you don’t watch what you say and ban your account, I’ve had to fight with them once already to get my account back from them. Anyway it all depends on the area you’re looking in as well. Some places there’s more loads than others. UShip will tell you if it’s a brokered load, and only let you bid them if you’re certified by Safe Move or Safe Watch or whatever it’s called. Personally I don’t like brokers anyway. Way too much BS and miscommunication/misinformation with them based off what I’ve heard about them. I like personally dealing with customers myself, way better than brokers. I’ve yet to have a single issue with any customer

Josh Dobin They also keep 20% of each load, as well as charge the shipper like $70-$100, so uShip gets plenty of money between the shipper fee and the 20% they charge/keep from carriers

Couldn’t you have cut your expenses in half, and had someone drive one truck?
@lawnboy81SMS4 жыл бұрын
Beau Fubm I didn’t have a second person with me when I left with the first and the customer didn’t feel comfortable driving then that far without knowing the condition, which I agreed with. The second truck will pay an additional $400, I should’ve specified it was $400/truck. The second one will be delivered this week in a couple days
