What really broke my heart in the first story is that the OP expected to get hateful comments. This shit was so normalized to her that she assumed everyone thought the way her family did.

"He said he feels like a failure." Yeah, I'd have been incandescent with rage at the first hint of that self-pity. He is a failure. He's ruined himself, damn near ruined her, and his kids. Just wow.

All that religion, none of the love, but all of the hate.

As a Christian it’s not just being “religious” that’s important, but your relationship with your religion. The parents only taught the “religious” part.

Husband is basically a doormat to his parents, his parents completely trashed his credit and destroyed his credit, and yet HE STILL gives them money?

I'm glad OP 2 saw through the self pity and bs the husband was spewing, he only said what he thought OP would want to hear without any real change. A lot of non confrontational OPs would take him back immediately. I'm like 80% sure that things didn't go down like he said after OP left and the Husband's parents are still leeching.

Story 1 definitely sounds like Muslim based on the info (I haven't even finished the story yet). _Edit:_ It's because of the mention of France

Could be, but Christians aren't necessarily better. But it could be orthodox Jewish too.

I was thinking the same thing, the excessive focus on purity, how the father decided the destiny of every member of the household and most of all the fact that from what she's saying she might live in France

@@MinkxiTesProbably not Jewish, only because they don't believe in hell. (The mindset is still there, though, so I get what you mean.) Muslims and Christians do. Op being from France, either feels likely to me. I'm leaning towards Christian/Catholic because of the 'worldly things' comment and the comment about atheists. I just feel like, having grown up in those spaces, I heard those comments a lot.

3rd story if he knew is wife don’t like the way he is close with the coworker he should have set boundaries and the fact that he said he knew his wife would be upset with him wearing the shirt but still wear it WHY! It is as if he wants the work wife and enjoy her company! Hopefully he won’t cheat but his behavior shows that he is on the fence and just might if he is stressed and need that release

3rd story op should just talk this to the source problem and tell her straight that stop being creepy and do those things to her own brother

I am so curious about this religion, I can't think of which one preaches that its followers are inherently smarter/better/superior to the rest of the world. Lol, people are wild.

Story 3: OP is an unstable mess. Her husband’s mother died and she’s throwing responsibility for other’s actions on him. How about talking to the person who is the issue who OP has known since childhood instead of making a hard time in husband’s life even harder.

You don't talk to homewrecker to stop homewrecking because it never work. You fortify the home to deter homewrecker from coming in. She know that "b**ch" is bad news from miles away and nothing will stop her unless her target really shoves her away.
