Filing a pool in the US can cost $2-3K in water fees. The pool would need to be refilled twice. I would sue them civilly for the cost of water and frankly, I would have pursued charges for destruction of property. There's a good chance that filters would also be destroyed, along with the water itself. HOA or not, they can't regulate criminal law.

The husband is the biggest AH here. He keeps a ton of secrets. He didn't tell OP about what Kyla initially said or block her on his own. It's just completely normal to see friends, family, everyone less when you're in a relationship. As long as you don't completely isolate yourself as a couple. He also didn't tell OP Kyla had asked him out.
@katie67313 ай бұрын
Or that he saw Joanna when he was in Seattle. With this many lies of omission, I don't see how OP can trust him. He didn't tell OP that Kyla had asked him out when OP directly asked if he had dated anyone in his friend group. He also didn't tell OP that he'd had a conversation with Joanna at the conference, even though he and OP spent several hours playing a video game that same night to catch up. He's intentionally keeping things from her that he should be telling her. If he'd truly thought the conversation with Joanna wasn't a big deal, then it makes more sense for him to have told OP about it while they were gaming. If I were OP, I'd have more questions. How many other times have he and Joanna attended the same out-of-town conferences? Have any of his other friends said negative things about his marriage? What other information has he neglected to tell OP? How can she trust that he'd volunteer the truth about important events? OP isn't much better, though. She straight-out lied to him when he asked how she knew that Joanna had been at the conference with him. Since the conference was two months ago, and it seems like "Joanna" sent the "cheating reveal" texts shortly after the conference, that means OP questioned her husband's fidelity for months without any evidence or having an honest conversation with him. These weird games they're playing don't seem terribly healthy for their marriage.

If kyla wanted to ruin their relationship it would seem to make more sense to do it before they got married. Kyla spends the next three years dormant. Her secret feelings are found out and then she apologizes to op and then becomes besties with her. Wouldn't it have made more sense to become besties with her and the Beginning so she could ruin the relationship? Kyla then goes through the hassel of faking profile and/or engaging with the ex to set up the husband. It is a ton of work. I'm upset about the poor execution.

Based on the reasoning that came from the update, I think there's certainly logic in expressing concerns about that potentially being a rebound relationship. I agree with her husband there, although he needs to be more empathetic of OP's concerns about Kyla's two-faced behaviour towards her. After the update: yeah, that's too fishy. Although, you don't have categorical proof Kyla was involved, best to keep your distance.

When you’re bad at reading people & get told you’ve been accidentally rude a lot, in my experience, you start to give people the benefit of doubt, assuming *you* must be interpreting things wrong and that everyone else is just as bad with their words as you are. Not saying Kayla wasn’t just being fucking rude. Just saying this might be why the husband never mentioned it before, and why he let something so egregious fly.

I personally got engaged after dating for 5 months and we were married 2 months later. We are still married 16 years later and no signs of divorce in our future. When you know that the other person is the right one for you, you know. I know people who dated for years, had long engagements, got married, and then after 2 years of marriage, they divorced. You don't have to date a long time to know when someone is right for you. I know that this isn't what the O.P. is asking about, but I hear it so often that it bothers me and I hat to rant about it. 😅

Story 1: I think the husband not telling OP things that others consider important could be explained by the fact that he is neurodivergent. If in his mind these things are unimportant, he genuinely might not even think that OP might still want to know. Like not mentioning that Kyla had previously asked him out - he wasn't interested in her, and he didn't think Kyla was still into him, so why bring it up and possibly make people uncomfortable when it's not relevant? That's just my take, but I think it helps explain the husband's behaviour. I often struggle with telling people important things happening in my life bc I either don't find it that important or I just forget to mention it. I can completely see myself not thinking to mention something like briefly running into an ex (I'd probably forget it happened until someone asked about it) or a friend having asked me out years prior (honestly I get OP's husband not mentioning it, I probably wouldn't think it mattered either)
