Detailed recipe below. It takes Dad over 17 hours to make lunch for the family. Watch as our toddler helps him out with BBQ Pulled Pork! Then we sit down for lunch and funny conversations!
We use the Big Green Egg to cook the meat outside. You can also cook it at a low temperature in the oven (in much less time!) if you don’t have a smoker.
BBQ Pulled Pork Instructions:
1. Use salt to dry brine a bone-in pork shoulder for 24 hours before cooking it
2. Cover with yellow mustard and dry rub (paprika, garlic, black pepper, brown sugar, white sugar)
3. Prepare the smoker for 225 degrees and use dry wood chips
4. Insert a digital leave-in thermometer
5. Place the meat on the smoker, right on the grate
6. Cook until the internal temp is 203 degrees...it took us 17.5 hours
7. Pull the pork on a cutting board with two large forks
8. Make sandwiches, salads, tacos and more!
