This shows how Denzel has tons of charisma. He's playing his most evil character and Jen and Holden are just laughing and giggling at lots of his antics, like "Oh Denzel, is he drinking and driving, hee hee hee!"
@bradybimson91062 жыл бұрын
Denzel is extraordinary in this movie. The way he makes you want to root for him the whole time through sheer charisma "maybe he has a reason" "Well maybe the profession has jaded him" "just teaching him a lesson". Then he reaches a point where you realize he's just a piece of shit and suddenly you want Hawke to get revenge. Yet you can't help but feel a little sad at the end when he's shot down. Great movie, great reaction!

When the studio originally came up with the idea for the Training Day tv series they went to Ethan Hawke for the lead. I saw that movie in the theater back in 2001. I remember leaving it asking, “Is this the first time Denzel Washing’s ever played a bad guy?”. I was telling people, you have to see this movie. The scene where he beat up the two crack heads, the scene where he used the fake search warrant. When I was in college, one Spanish guy who was kind of ghetto said, the way the character of Alonzo was was the way real police officers should be. What’s sad is that before body cameras came out is the way police officers were, now most of them are like Ethan Hawke until they forget they are being recorded like those cops in Tennessee.

Denzel gave a powerhouse performance, completely disappearing into his character. He definitely deserved his best actor Oscar for this role.
