Even if you hated it, its an appreciating asset now isnt it. So good choice in my opinion. I currently own an rsv4, TL1000r and a tt600. I will be adding a k1300s for the touring though

My list. 78 SR540 built race bike, 83 XT550, 89 Honda race hawk pro build, 04 R6, 01 RC51, 04 ZZR1200. My fave is the SR540 then RC51. Each one has a desire and purpose. Been riding 55 yrs. Keep it, always go up in value.. Cheers.

I had that same conversation with myself. SP1 here and a 2021 Busa. The 51 is a thing , not very good as a street bike , but it just brings a smile every time I ride it . Those who know , know . Hard not to just sit and stare at it . Purposefull , raw , that sound , a labour of love . I’m going to keep it , use it and remember when it was truly something. Good choice ,,, I think ? Lol Be safe

Keep it I have a 2014 S 1000 RR 03 TL 1000R 2021 Z900RS Each bike brings it's own style and flair and I enjoy riding all of them Great video

I LOVE the TL! I wanted the S model back in the day but ended up with a Superhawk 996 - which was an okay consolation prize 🏆

The RC51 is a piece of Honda history, the "Ducati Killer" is truly a very underrated and awesome bike.

Brotha .... I`m right there with you! I bought an 02 SP2 11 years ago and rode it for about 60k miles. 6 years ago I had the drive chain snap and tear off the clutch slave. No saving that at all. Found a used engine on eBay dirt cheap and swapped it in. Who ever owned the bike that motor was in did no maintenance and that motor dropped a valve about a week after I installed it. I put the bike in storage because I couldn`t bring myself to sell it. I then bought my other V Twin favorite ... a 2008 Aprilia RSV1000R. I have been riding that bike since but in the back of my mind I really wanted my RC51 running. Last summer I contacted a member from the RC51Forum who had a low mileage motor for sale. Picked the motor up and started the process of restoring my RC. This process has truly been a labor of love. Are there bikes out there faster, handle better yada, yada, yada ... of course! What gets me is the rawness of this bike and how it makes me feel every time I ride it. Will I ever sell it ... HELL NO!!😏

Hey man, thanks so much. I appreciate you taking time out of your life to join my journeys. I’m going on a ride tomorrow with my friend who has a ‘23 s1000RR. I’m taking the RC51 cuz it’s so rewarding to ride. As far as selling, that’s a long ways off - and there are about 3 close colleagues on the waiting list so far. Good news is that I f you look across state lines they can still be had.

Love the video. Been thinking of these bikes a lot lately. How tall is too tall to ride a rc51 comfortably? I’m 6,6 with riding boots on. I’m wondering if my knees even fit under the tank
