My Ideal Annie & Clarabel

If something you grew up with still holds up, by all means, don’t abandon it. But I’m a firm believer in recognising and addressing kinks in such things and regarding things the way they are instead of how I remember them. Story structure means a lot to me, I strive to consider appeal from several angles, including but not limited to that of an average railfan, and I have been asked by viewers on many occasions what to my mind works and doesn’t work with various aspects of Seasons 1 to 5 of Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends.

Well in Annie and Clarabel's case their roofs are grey. Bertie's face is were his grille would be, so it would be logical for him to have a grey face

I like this take, though I think the face would look much better if it was the same color as the rest of the coach, plus they would fit better with the engines since they have colored faces. I feel mixed, on one hand they feel to little for even a branch line (Personally feeling that a third break coach should be added so that the guard is ensured to be on the end), on the other hand two small four-wheeled coaches makes it more believable when daisy (a single unit railcar) can work the same roll as thomas.

I've always preferred Annie and Clarabel as Stroudley coaches myself. The pull push variation just look a little strange with Thomas.

Random side note: I think there were plans to give Annie and Clarabel grey faces when the show was making the transition to CGI. Obviously that never happened but I do remember seeing some people have done edits of Annie and Clarabel with grey faces prior to this.
