Hey liv! Im barista so I know a thing or two about coffee lol. Espresso is just a way to make coffee, like how cold brew and drip coffee are different. Technically you want to use a pretty finely ground coffee, for a typical espresso shot you’d use a medium to dark roast, but any roast will do. To be honest, I use normal ground coffee for my espresso machine at home and it works just fine, but if you want the AUTHENTIC espresso experience you can get a grinder and whole beans. There’s not really such thing as “espresso beans” it’s all coffee just ground different. Hope that helps :)
