Overall they nailed the styling. It is not that much different from the Interceptor and the Interceptor was really a huge success. In my opinion they made it more modern and comfortable, otherwise not really a more off-roadish bike. :) Will see.

When I first saw the Bear 650 my heart was touched. She is so beautiful, absolutely my style. I have 7 motorcycles in my garage, 2 of them are Royal Enfields (Classic 350 and Scram 411), but that Bear needs to be with me, too. Cheers from Germany and Glück🍀Auf aus Dortmund

From the information available on paper , it's essentially a slightly better built and more torquey interceptor. They reinforced some joints, added new suspension and incresed the torque. The horsepower also increased but they capped it to keep their A2 market share. As for the exhaust, you got it right, they kept it lower to accomodate soft luggage. Their decision to include a digital dash is as baffling as their decision to include integrated tail lights on an adv(something prone to dropping and losing bits).

Initial reaction: Looks great, good price, love the USD forks. After learning the specs: Disappointing they didn't make it a little more offroad capable. It would be fantastic to have around 150mm of travel. Also the seat seems rather high for so little travel/clearance. The Triumph Scrambler 1200x has the same seat height as this but with 170mm travel. :/

Maybe I am off base, but I have always considered a scrambler to be a single cylinder for the sake of off-road traction. I thought they would do a scrambler version of the new Sherpa motor before scrambling a twin...

I ride a cruiser as my main bike and have been looking to get a second bike just to distribute the miles onto another machine. I've always loved scrambler style bikes and my shortlist before was pretty much the Triumph lineup. Now I've got to decide between one of the Triumphs and this bike, all really good looking bikes that I'm sure will be a blast to ride

@@FreeMilesMC I totally understand that, my cruiser is a Low Rider ST. It was very expensive lol, so I feel bad every time I have to ride it in the rain. Want to get a cheaper scrambler so I can have a bad weather bike, the Triumph 400x looks really cool as well and reasonably priced
@DD-co1znАй бұрын
I wont be selling my Euro4 Interceptor 650. I am not keen on Euro5. I prefer to make my own scrambler, which is is the spirit of scrambling anyway. Main thing I would like to do is putting the bear wheels on my interceptor. I hope they havent changed any fittings or axle lengths. The overall wheel/tyre diameter looks to be the same on both bear wheels - so 1:1 like the interceptor, which gives me some hope. Even if there is a small difference between front and rear, i think there is enough play in the front forks for adjustment. Personally i think upgrading to the upside down forks is unnecessary. I just want a Scrambler to travel all roads, no matter how bad, and some trails ... I'm not looking to do some sporty off roading, or pushing the limits - just looking to get from A to B. However, if it's a possible mod for a reasonable expense - never say never, but it won't be a priority for me or i think most ordinary users. If you really want to push it off road, there might be better bikes. Also, back to the wheels again, i noticed some of the indian youtube channels of indian motorcycle magazines claim that Royal Enfield are apparently working on spoked tubeless wheels. In the context of Bear 650. I certainly hope thats true. If swapping the wheels is a straight forward mod, and RE will eventually make some spoked tubeless option in 17/19 - i will be happy.
@FreeMilesMCАй бұрын
I Share your thoughts on wheels but now getting any Kind of 19 Inch Wheel registerd should be easyer wich is cool☺️
@SherKhan-b1kesАй бұрын
Having the Bears forks on an Interceptor involves a lot of expense. New fork braces will be needed because the upper diameter of the usd forks is larger. 👈 that might also include some head-scratching when comparing the steering angle as we don’t know if things were changed to allow the difference in the new 19“ front 🛞 which is also re-inforced on the Bear. Fantastic professional presentation, looking forward to a test-ride, Best wishes from Germany 🏁

I’m surprised at how small the suspension travel upgrade is. I would have expected 6inches (152mm) front and back. Also, would have appreciated dual 18 inch wheel option. I personally have a Ducati scrambler (which can be had for a bargain these days). The base duc scrambler is 60lbs lighter, has 30 more HP and has more suspension travel. However, the bottom of the bike is not cradle frame so it is harder to protect.

The exhaust and the dash are the main downsides of this one for me, the exhaust you can swap for proper high pipes (for a pretty penny) but the dash will be a lot more effort to swap over, if that's even possible. The real bummer is that there are some spyshots of an interceptor with dual disc brakes, but it also has the digital screen. BMW has it as an option on the R nineT, you get to choose. I wish Royal Enfield and Triumph would do that too.
@FreeMilesMCАй бұрын
I can definitly understand that hohen that the digital clocks are there would be nice to have them as a Option

I am speculating that the digital dash equipped Interceptor is a liquid cooled 750cc bike, hence the dual front discs as well...

Many paved roads are in terrible shape with modern useless govts so more travel and better suspension is needed on road as well.

My friend, you can’t criticize a bike without even trying it out first. You can’t even give a first impression because you haven’t ridden it yet. Sign up for a test ride and then come back with your criticism. You making a int into a scrambler isnt the same as the bear 650. You didn’t even talk about the increased rake for more stability. I’d be interested in your thoughts after you have ridden a bear.
