pro tip about the Boxxer - Remove all tokens and play with the pressure in the middle setting, if too harsh, remove some LSC.

I agree. Less tokens and more psi. Keeps you higher in the travel while still giving good small bump sensitivity

also get it rebuilt. My brand new Zeb felt like garbage, took it to Fluid Function in Squamish just to make sure nothing was wrong (there wasnt) and got it back feeling 100 times better. Lot of forks these days have way to much grease packed in them and improper oil amounts from factory

I have the V5 Nomad with 180mm Fox 38 & love it. 8'm tempted by that V10 but I'd be limited for it's use. SC warranties are great too as well having free frame bearings.

Good Review. I had the Same problem with the ZEB. Putting in way more air (78 psi instead of the recommended 56) and removing Low- and Highspeed compression by -1 click did it for me. Still Running one spacer like it comes stock. It has better responsiveness and nice (linear feeling) support through the whole travel, almost like in the back with VPP ;) I Hope this helps.

Now that bikes are getting dialed frame wise, it'd be cool to see companies linked to quality paint shops that can do custom work, way easier than sanding original. Scimping on final production like buying a spray painted Ferrari.

Been riding DH since 98. Stopped maintaining my own rig in 2016. They've gotten so expensive and changing almost as fast as they ride. Now I just show up to the park and rent a top shelf bike (usually a Santa Cruz V10) latest model. Way cheaper to rent it 😉 These bikes feel like monster trucks these days . Which is greatly appreciated as I plan on riding well into my 60s😅

Both my Cruz's are ride wrapped from new and both look mint still 2016 and 2018

The Santa Cruz long travel frames are just good Lew. If you have the money, you don’t regret it. So, I’m sure the V10 is extra special, but so are the other longer travel ones, including the Bullit. I’ve also ridden the Atherton: you’ll like that. I know I go on about it and you have to have it built and there’s a wait, but seriously, consider it. You’re up there often enough: have you had a quiet demo on one (I realise the of might be an issue with a ‘public’ demo, but they’d obviously sell you one).
