You are the reason I now adore and wear chunky sneakers (dad shoes), I honestly have changed my style a lot since I started watching you. If I had the funds I'd probably grab most of your sneakers, platforms, and the Italian leather ones. Also the pineapple converse, I legitimately screamed when you found them in Japan. I am hoping you both keep and sell those blue Asos heels you haven't been able to style 😅 they look fantastic on you but I adore them too. The problems of a Shoeaholic 🤣

Wasnt she going to sell it tho, like she is an influencer so if anybody sees her wearing that they may ask where its from and wants to buy it themself. She dosent want to represent the brand and because of that dicides to remove those pieces and somebody else that really wants those can now get them whitout having to buy them from that brand.

I have worked at a “shoemaker”, skomaker in Norwegian (probably it’s called a shoe fixer in English😄) Take the beige shoes (11:04) to a shoemaker/fixer shop and they can take the edge of the sole of easily! Sams right; When you put on new pair soles on shoes you use a cutter and than a grinding machine to make the new soles look like they where a part of the shoe originally. It’s an easy fix in that kind of business👠 Loved the video🌸

That's really cool! Also, in English it's technically called a "shoe cobbler" although I'm not sure if many people call them that anymore. I've heard of shoe menders though, which is the same thing

A proper cobbler is so hard to find these days, most people here tend to take shoes to a "Mr Minit" kiosk, there's heaps of them around coz they take something like 12 weeks to teach you everything from key cutting to engraving to shoe repairs and it's out the door and into a kiosk in the middle of a shopping centre somewhere in the 'burbs... There was a time when just about every town had a cobbler, but unfortunately, cobbling is one of those dying trades and not many young ones want to spend 3 to 4 years in an apprenticeship...we went from about half a dozen or 8 in our region down to 1...and he works from home on a strictly call-me-first basis... but he does great work... ;)

Surprisingly affordable too! It's only about $20 to completely re-sole a pair of shoes at my local place, totally worth it to get another few years with my favorite shoes.

when you mentioned never wearing the Chanel sneakers out of the house, it reminded me of this anecdote I read YEARS ago. A woman had terminal cancer and she spent her last weeks writing about her life. She had bought this sparkly rose-shaped candle years earlier, and always wanted to light it, but no day ever seemed special enough, and she didn't want to ruin it, so she just kept this candle for years and years and it gathered dust. She said her one regret in life was never lighting the damn candle. this story has stayed in my mind forever, and frequently inspires me to just WEAR the pretty things, use the nice cutlery, write to-do lists on fancy stationery.

I totally agree about good shoes under wedding dress. I was a bridesmaid for my big brother's wedding and when I came home to dress after hairdresser no-one could find my shoes, so I wore my new-ish red doc martens and I was soo comfy and a photo of mine and mine groomsmen's shoes ended on a style magazine cover!

The spinal column heels are loosely inspired by the shoes from the Dsquared F/W 2010 runway :) they might be a difficult one to source, but if you can embrace the spirit of the old internet, there are some great designer swop and sell forums/message boards that might have a good deal on them

As a lover of shoes who has always lamented the difficulty of finding shoes that were the right size and loved my feet I enjoyed seeing this collection immensely. I really love the idea of you doing vintage fashion and shoes! I got into buying historical shoes (when I could afford them) and found they're really lovely. I have three pairs of vintage styles from the brand American Duchess and one pair of shoes from their Royal Vintage line. They may be rather pricy but I couldn't recommend them more if you are interested in getting authentically styled vintage shoes :)

I only guessed about half right when it came to keeping shoes or not. I was very disappointed in myself. Also, towards the end of the video you showed off several pairs of sneakers and they brought me back to my highschool days (20+ years ago). Alex have you heard of toe spacers(straighteners?)? They're really good for unbending your toes from wearing shoes that bend them. I've only heard about them recently and am going to get some the next time I go to the store. If you haven't heard of them you could get a pair as well. 😊

I love how while watching this you can pinpoint the year in which she may have bought her shoes (chunky ones recently, oxfords somewhere between 2014-2015, those velvety ones with ribbons instead of laces 2016-2017..), it's like a tiny fashion history without intention.

I LOVE the clothing and shoes brand Sugar Thrillz that only Dolls Kill stock. Dolls Kill have addressed previous issues, as have Shein, and most importantly have made positive changes in the right direction which is awesome 🙂
