You are the reason I now adore and wear chunky sneakers (dad shoes), I honestly have changed my style a lot since I started watching you. If I had the funds I'd probably grab most of your sneakers, platforms, and the Italian leather ones. Also the pineapple converse, I legitimately screamed when you found them in Japan. I have worked at a “shoemaker”, skomaker in Norwegian (probably it’s called a shoe fixer in English😄) Take the beige shoes (11:04) to a shoemaker/fixer shop and they can take the edge of the sole of easily! Sams right; When you put on new pair soles on shoes you use a cutter and than a grinding machine to make the new soles look like they where a part of the shoe originally. It’s an easy fix in that kind of business👠 Loved the video🌸

That's really cool! Also, in English it's technically called a "shoe cobbler" although I'm not sure if many people call them that anymore. I've heard of shoe menders though, which is the same thing

A proper cobbler is so hard to find these days, most people here tend to take shoes to a "Mr Minit" kiosk, there's heaps of them around coz they take something like 12 weeks to teach you everything from key cutting to engraving to shoe repairs and it's out the door and into a kiosk in the middle of a shopping centre somewhere in the 'burbs... There was a time when just about every town had a cobbler, but unfortunately, cobbling is one of those dying trades and not many young ones want to spend 3 to 4 years in an apprenticeship...we went from about half a dozen or 8 in our region down to 1...and he works from home on a strictly call-me-first basis... but he does great work... ;)

Surprisingly affordable too! It's only about $20 to completely re-sole a pair of shoes at my local place, totally worth it to get another few years with my favorite shoes.

I totally agree about good shoes under wedding dress. I was a bridesmaid for my big brother's wedding and when I came home to dress after hairdresser no-one could find my shoes, so I wore my new-ish red doc martens and I was soo comfy and a photo of mine and mine groomsmen's shoes ended on a style magazine cover!

when you mentioned never wearing the Chanel sneakers out of the house, it reminded me of this anecdote I read YEARS ago. A woman had terminal cancer and she spent her last weeks writing about her life. She had bought this sparkly rose-shaped candle years earlier, and always wanted to light it, but no day ever seemed special enough, and she didn't want to ruin it, so she just kept this candle for years and years and it gathered dust. She said her one regret in life was never lighting the damn candle. this story has stayed in my mind forever, and frequently inspires me to just WEAR the pretty things, use the nice cutlery, write to-do lists on fancy stationery.

As a lover of shoes who has always lamented the difficulty of finding shoes that were the right size and loved my feet I enjoyed seeing this collection immensely. I really love the idea of you doing vintage fashion and shoes! I got into buying historical shoes (when I could afford them) and found they're really lovely. I have three pairs of vintage styles from the brand American Duchess and one pair of shoes from their Royal Vintage line. They may be rather pricy but I couldn't recommend them more if you are interested in getting authentically styled vintage shoes :)

Hello Fresh has been incredibly yummy since we took advantage of your prettypastel special deal , and now we are trying EVERYPLATE. Also owned by HELLO FRESH but much cheaper. Suitable for Students and Pensioners I think because about half the price and just as Yummy. I'm just putting this here so that anyone who wants to try fresh food boxes , but has a strict budget, you will LOVE Everyplate I think. They have specials on just now as well which makes it even cheaper.

Girl idc what the shipping is some of the shoes in the get rid of pile, I would die for ! Finding shoes like that in our size is like finding gold in a toilet ! It just doesn’t happen.
