Oh my god, the Vivienne Westwood winged rocking horse shoes. Those were like the golden pedestal, in-your-dreams shoes in lolita fashion back in heyday of liveljournal. I bought a pair a few years ago in my size and it felt like I won the lottery.

@@yasminbeltran19 I DO think, for the record, they're overpriced for what they are, which is why I'd recommend you get them on sale. For me, they're on par with like, idk maybe Demonias or something? (I don't own Demonias atm, waiting for a pair in the mail but going off what I've heard) like, they're probably a bit better than other lower mid-range shoes brands, but I do think the price point they sell them at is a bit high. I own both the Smoke boot and Ditto maryjanes personally and I've enjoyed them and found them comfortable and sturdy for the time I've worn them, but I'm also not wearing them every day, so I assume that also factors in. I think a lot of people probably the sticker is that they're overpriced for what you get. UNIF also does sometimes near-replicas of older shoes, which I know a lot of people hate too, and I get, but people's solution to that is always that instead you should buy overpriced secondhand shoes off Depop which imo is the worse option, because secondhand shoes often have issues like glue rot and break easier too. I think if you're planning on wearing them for everyday and risking a lot of wear and tear, then it might be good to think about potential breakage vs the price, and is it worth it to you if they break within a year or something? Though other brands like Demonia seem to have similar problems, but the price point is slightly lower and more forgivable.

I also buy vintage shoes and I have the same problem, either the sole comes apart because its too high or the leather inside starts to rip off. That means the shoes have not been used for a very long time. Also the year the shoes were made had different temperature, the city street concrete temperature nowadays ruins vintage shoes :( so it is not so recommendable to wear them, just collect them. I also own few VWxMelissa shoes, I either have very sweaty feet or they are really uncomfortable.. And I can relate!! I can keep my creepers from when I was in high school and they are in bad conditions but I somehow feel nostalgic when I look at them so I can't bring myself to throw them. They're really cool shoes! The Alexander Wang pair looks really good on you even though I would normally find them ugly if I just saw them on display.

I would say to make the soles last longer i would recomend buying some protectors and trim off the excess to fit the soles and that should help especially before wearing new shoes
