Putting my experience out there as a warning for people to learn from my mistakes. Think twice before you do a rhinoplasty. I had a deviated septum and my nose was broken in two areas and healed when I went to speak with a doctor. He convinced me to shave down the bridge of the nose bc "It would look better". I ended up with a crooked nose, open roof , one bone higher than the other , nostrils sucked in, difficulty in breathing. It's been close to 3 years and I'm still suffering. I'm now going to have a revision with rib cartilage. Please pay the highest amount and search a doctor throughout before you do anything.
@PS-hi9os3 жыл бұрын
it has got nothing to with how much you pay but how good the doctor is. i went to turkey twice for my nose job and the revision was fantastic even though it was cheap. same thing as you, i couldn’t breathe and it was crooked and has no support.
@DeanithForeverYoung2 жыл бұрын
@@PS-hi9os Price can indeed play a big role sometimes . Also all I meant is don't go cheap out of hurry. If you know a doctor is better and costs a little bit more then wait till ur able to afford that doctor in comparison to the other. A lot of patients get out of turkey with aesthetics but bad breathing bc doctors remove too much of the bridge and creat the same copy paste noses. I've seen insta feeds of doctors that have the exact same nose on every patient and that to me is big red flag.

I lost the same amount of weight and know exactly what you mean by the loose skin making you feel bigger than you are. Made me feel like I was still overweight when I wasn't. Had a tummy tuck and hope you are able to get one. Will say however that recovery wasn't easy. Ended up with a seroma and second surgery to remove it but that's very rare. Also, probably couldn't have more children now, honestly don't think the skin could expand that much so recommend being sure that you're finished having kids.

@@s-bles thank you so much for sharing! Yes I am 100% done with having kids. Already made that decision after having my third and then the end of last year I had treatment for cancerous cells on my cervix so that would be a no no for anymore pregnancies anyway. I'm sorry to hear you had complications. I've suffered my whole life with body dismorphia I used to have a huge list of cosmetic surgeries and procedures I wanted done. But I've really worked on myself and the only one I havent changed my mind on is a tummy tuck, even with the risks etc it's the one I know would make a huge difference to my life and self confidence especially after all the hard work I put in losing the weight! I wish I has the money as I would have one tomorrow but sadly it's something I will have to save for, probably for a few years. Hopefully itll be worth it!

So, I’m coming on here to say that I am devastated by Alex’s passing and that she was beautiful in every way. Her original nose was absolutely beautiful- aquiline and elegant. Those horrid comments she posted in the video are a good example of just how clueless most people are to real, authentic beauty. She was perfect. Nothing was wrong with her. I’m glad that she got the nose job if it made her happy, but only if it truly did. Otherwise, I wish she’d said F U to all the online trolls. For anyone out there who makes videos and/or works online, and we’re all online, take heed: most people will never see the real you. Most people are talking from messed up brains influenced by other messed up brains. The only real truth is the quiet strength inside of you. Listen to that, not invisible folks online.

I would get those too. You’d be so pretty if you fixed your teeth 🙁 I was born with bad teeth. Genetically. I would brush and floss 3x a day yet my teeth would rot and break. Turns out, I was only supposed to be brushing ONCE a day because they were so brittle (and using mouthwash the other 2x a day) but I didn’t learn this until it was too late. I had root canals in brand new teeth after they had grown in. I’d get temporarily fillings waiting for the porcelain cap to come in, and the filling would brake taking more if the brittle tooth with it causing me to lose that tooth instead (but I still had to pay for all the work that the dentist had done). Because we were poor, I stopped trying to save them, methodically having teeth pulled when they became too rotted to the point that, by 29 yo I only had the teeth you saw when I smiled left in my mouth. I had to chew with my front teeth I was constantly covering my mouth when I smiled. These front teeth, while perfectly straight, looked awful too. You could always see THROUGH my teeth because they practically had no enamel. They were gray to yellow from stains not white. And the PAIN OMG THE PAIN. I was in pain constantly from a tooth or teeth. I have had great dentists and some that shouldn’t be practicing imho. One accused me of being a drug addict because of the way my teeth looked. Another pulled the wrong tooth because they all looked bad so I lost 2 teeth when only one was causing problem at the time. And the last one which I’ll tell you below... So, for my 30th birthday, I bit the bullet and had the 14 remaining teeth pulled. That dentist...He didn’t numb me enough, and didn’t CARE that I wasn’t numb. He numbed the wrong area. I felt every single one of my top teeth being pulled out from behind the tooth (the front was numb not the back) and when I was writhing in pain in the chair he just kept going. That was the first time I ever left the dentist in tears. To top it off, I hated the dentures. They looked like chicklets in my mouth. It changed my whole face...but mainly it was because of the massive swelling. I grew to love them, love not being in pain, being able to eat like a normal person and being able to smile or laugh without covering my mouth. It’s been 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made but those backhanded compliments, I’ll never forget them. They shape who we are, and it sucks. We can fix the outside and think we fix the inside but, at least in my case, I can never forget the years of humiliation, embarrassment and pain I’ve felt because I lost the genetic lottery when it came to my teeth. Oh and I don’t tell many people I have dentures because I’m only 44 so it’s a new embarrassment that I’ve developed. I can deal with that one though, because most can’t tell unless I tell them.

Happy for her and totally get it, as a female with a “non traditional” nose for a white Westerner. What makes me sad is we are taught that our noses/faces/skin color/bodies are not OK as they are, and must be altered to then become acceptable.
@sleeby4234 Жыл бұрын
agreed. i see a lot of comments saying things like "if you like it, that's all that matters," but there are plenty of underlying biases and social ideas to navigate instead of acting solely on initial feelings and anxieties. i'm born female with a big nose with a bump and it's the same one my mom has. i love it. she hates it. noses like ours remind me of old paintings, but remind her of how she fails to fit the narrow (and never satisfied) mold of what it means to be attractive enough.
@melchiorlise2466 Жыл бұрын
I half agree. You should have cosmetic surgery because you seem society deems your appearance unacceptable but are otherwise fine with it. However many people who suffer from their appearance are more critical of their appearance themselves than society is. It could be because of internal biases and past traumas, but most of the time it isn't as simple as "accepting" oneself. Why should people who suffer from their appearance wonder why they have to go through the uncertain, complicated and painfully long process of accepting themselves when conventionally attractive people can benefit from being attractive without ever asking themselves the question?

All of my friends and family were very supportive because they knew the pain I suffered from having such big breasts. @@SausageSideways as easy as that is to say, when youv grown up with people saying how big your nose is from like age of 6 and still get comments about it now at age 23. With comments like you would be so pretty if your nose wasn't so big, you should save for a nose job etc it's hard to just ignore a lifetime of comments when it's effected how you see yourself. Like I could never afford the surgery so don't think il ever be able to get it but I remember from a young age wanting it. And then to make things worse to feel like I gave my daughter my nose when my partners parents when they first met her had horrible comments about her nose and "jokingly" said I should started saving so she can have a nose job when she's older. I don't think people realise how much these comments can effect someone. I did try and joke about it to, to try get over it and accept it for how it is but it only worked for a shirt while, like id say im the real pinocchio. Like it's effected alot. I can have a picture taken and I can't help but be looking at my nose and how big it is, and if nkt at a certain angle that makes it look not as bad, then I'll hate the picture. Trust if it was as easy as just loving myself, as I was able to do with other parts of my body like after having kids it took alil while to get used to how my body changed and then I was able to accept it easily but for some reason nothing seems to help when it comes for me to accept my nose.

I had a nose job at the age of thirteen due to a severe deviated septum, just like you, from breaking my nose at a very early age. It just didn't grow properly at all. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't sleep- I was waking up choking every time I closed my mouth while sleeping. Our health insurance paid for it because it was a serious medical condition that was putting me at risk of dying in my sleep due to the severity of my bridge bend. I wore glasses and they didn't ever sit right due to the giant bump that jutted to the left of my nose. Honestly, having that nose job was the best thing that ever happened to me- I can breathe and sleep happily, plus it didn't actually change the shape of my nose all that much! Maybe it's because I had it done at such an early age so my face just kind of grew into it, but they did the second form of surgery you mentioned where they put the cartilage in the middle of my nose instead of on the sides. There's nothing wrong with getting some body tune-ups, whether medically necessary or just because you don't like the look of something! Who cares what you do with your own nose? Thank you for taking us on this journey, but please don't feel like you need to justify your decision for what you did with your face. We love you! ♥

I admire you so much for being so upfront about getting surgery. When influencers and youtubers are secret about work they have had done it can make the beauty standards unreachable to kids and teens. It really speaks for your character!! Upfront trustworthy and honest 😊😊

i really appreciate her for showing so much honesty and not talking to the camera for 40 minutes and saying that she got her nose done, throwing an before and after pic in, saying it all went well and calling it a day. Nose surgery is tough and it takes lots of courage to show those parts on the internet. So proud of her!

I was horribly teased as a child about my ears and got plastic surgery to pin them back. When she sees her new tip for the first time. I was empathically sobbing with you, girl. Plastic surgery has such a terrible reputation, but it genuinely can bring so much happiness. It breaks my heart that people say such horrible things to people about things outside of your control. Thank you for sharing this experience. I hope you heal well. You are amazing

Ik. I want to have plastic surgery for my belly too. It's something that borders me since I was young and at first I was so nervous bc of what other people will say . Now idc, nobody will live my life so i want to do what make me happy and I want to look the best version of myself😍

I almost had surgery to pin back my ears in middle school because I was bullied so much but my best friend at the time told me he loved my ears because they’re unique and cool

@@kailanwilson9751 you rock them! I love ears that stick out. In way, I do regret letting people distract me from my own inner beauty, but I don't regret the surgery at all. @@israameky7235 Mushroom soup, milk powder, protein shakes etc. I have had surgery in my mouth so I could only eat liquids for a week, and then mashed foods for 2 weeks. You can definitly get enough proteins (and everything else you need) via only liquid. It's boring as all hell and reeeal frustrating but totally doable, especially a few weeks like after a surgery :)

Okay, so after watching the whole video and seeing everyone's reaction to "should I put the nose piercing back in?" I think the biggest things are: 1. You said you used it to mark if you were taking a "suitable" photo, that hid your imperfections you had with your nose, and now that's not an issue? 2. You said you nose will change over the next year, so I'd at least leave it out until then (which knowing your thorough nature, I'm sure you'd do that anyway). 3. Try placing a faux one on your new nose, and see if you still like it. If you do, just get it re-pierced when it heals. :)
@JC-yy8iv4 жыл бұрын
Also, it’s been my experience that fully healed cartilage piercings don’t ever close up fully. Worst case scenario is just needing them to run a taper through before putting the new jewelry in, it’s just one small extra step, no big deal. I don’t have a septum but I’ve left my nostril piercing out for years at a time and it’s always been fine.
@ciearakimberly5234 жыл бұрын
even if she used it to mark how far to turn her head for photos, she could still like the piercing? I HATE my nose, but I love my piercing. It gives me something to look at on my nose that I actually like.
@ciearakimberly5234 жыл бұрын
@@JC-yy8iv I personally think mine would close up overnight lol. I know people who say that even years and years after getting a nostril piercing, its never fully healed for them. If i had to take mine out for a long time I'm sure I'd need to get it re-done. But some people can leave a piercing out for years and be fine (lucky ducks lol)
@heathers85654 жыл бұрын
Ugh no dont repierce it! Mine had to be redone after like 8 months of having it and another 8 months of healing and I've had it over a year now and it still isnt fully healed. Not worth it to risk it taking forever to heal or develop keloid bumpsif its healed nicely already put that sucker back in asap!

J. Levi C. I don’t think that’s most peoples experience, my nose piercing was out for like a day and a half and it almost closed up, it completely closed on the inside so I had to stick a needle through it to get my piercing in.
