No even a year ago, I changed my password on my iPad. I forgot it and eventually locked myself out for good. The only way was to reset it, meaning I would loose all the photos not backed up to iCloud. Somewhere around 500 photos. I could have fixed it one day after it happened but I was scared of losing photos. Some of them were replaceable. Some weren’t. I got my old iPad mini two (the one I’m using now). I’ve recently done something to this iPad and now most of the screen is covered with black lines. If you touch it, it still responds. My mum said I have to pay to get it fixed (mabye) and get the other one reset at an apple store. Idk when I’ll be able to get it done. But, the screen seems to just get worse everyday. Thx for listening to my ramble.

People, Listen and Remorse, before sending hate comments. He said it but not clear enough. The dilemma is Bad bitten Apple has incorporated a sort of ID somewhere that when you change the entire display screen of any iPad/iPod, and later, you need to use the critical touch (Use of Pen/stylus for art work/design), you do get an ugly, nasty lag after exchange that was not there before. A straight oblique line will appear as an irregular step pattern! This is just to stop anyone from attempt to change the screen with 3rd party or even original iPad screens! All you need to know and he said, there are 2 parts into this. The original LCD or glassy part (That is the broken part and source of your problem) and the cover "Touch" film/part. You should preserve and reuse the Touch section, after the change of LCD to keep all the functions preserved or later on you will figure out something very odd! and why as all say (PC fans etc) Apple is so nasty!!

ummm, so uh my ipad like months ago had green, grey, purple/pink lines and to remove them i kept hitting it in the back and holding it forcely (i got that from the internet) at some point it stopped, then it got worse, and now all i see when i turn it on is a white screen with a slightly darker line on the middle, is my ipad completely fucked now? i can charge it, i can turn it on, and when it’s turned on, that’s what shows, it’d be a shame if i had to buy a new one because these fuckers are expensive (the ipad was already used, but when i bought it it didnt come with any defects or anything)

For minimal spectrum lines it could just be the touch screen just double check it by removing the touch screen and checking the display of the lcd screen if the lines remain then replace the lcd if the lines are gone then just change the touch screen.

Hope you see this and can help me out. The lines you showed were not exactly like mine. My iPad Pro has the FLASHING WHITE lines horizontally. Usually when the color black is present. Would that still be included in this category? Sometimes when we apply pressure to certain areas we can get it to stop for a bit, but it’s usually full of flashing white lines. Thanks In advance!

THE FIX: I had bought a broken ipad mini 2 (32GB) from ebay. Costs were like 25 euro. The ipad started up great but after a while the screen was lined and blurry. Like all these screens. I tried all the fixed. But non did the trick. Only thing i was worried about was the fact it could have been the GPU of the IPAD 2 mini, but it wasn;t!. I ordered a replacement (34 dollar) screen for ipad 2 mini from ali express. Came a month later. I installed it and this screen worked. No lines nothing. So probably its best to just replace the screen. Those fixes like brightness up a lot for 5 minutes, didn't work. Replace the display and its ok again. Probably order another touch screen too cause when removing glass from ipad 2 its very tricky not to break the glass. Even with hot airgun. (glass only costs 11 dollars).

Idk if it will work but it did for me: maybe you can’t change the appearance of the screen at all, but if u can than maybe try to switch it all the way off (power down) and then on again... it worked for me🧐 so good luck 🍀

I did nothing to my IPad Air2 . I charged it all night, woke up and it had thick vertical lines. I restarted it and it is gone! I used a 20w charger and I am 100% certain that is the issue. I think it was more than it could handle. I’ll go back to my 10w charger and see if it happens again.

I bought an iPad Pro 9.7 from ebay as defective it reboots. The LED randomly goes to static (lines as you describe) following a restart/reboot . Sometimes there is a loud sound as well during the crash. I installed a new battery but to no avail. Now I am waiting a led replacement. Third party repair shop told me that they cannot fix it because it is a delicate GPU issue that is integrated with the chip. However, they have not actually checked/diagnosed it, but only according to my description. I really-really hope that is the lcd as you mentioned.
