I'm still rocking my original iPod (manufactured in November 2001!) to this day and actually use it almost daily. Even though I pay for Spotify premium, I absolutely *love* using my OG iPod as an offline music player at home. The headphone jack is fantastic for my studio reference headphones. The only upgrade I ever did to it was getting a 20GB hard drive for it because I was so sick of constantly deleting songs to make space on the original 5GB hard drive from 2001. I still add music to it constantly, with my most recent addition being the Astro's Playroom album after playing the new Asteobot game. Even with 20GB, I'm almost out of space again.

I never owned an iPod since I was far more interested in the lower end media players and iPod knockoffs, especially those "MP4 Players" that they used to sell at drug stores, dollar stores, etc, usually around the Holiday season. They were quirky, occasionally glitchy, and cheaply made, but they did have some features many iPods didn't have such as FM radio (and the ability to record airchecks off the radio into MP3 format), and expandable memory, typically with a Micro SD card. How good these worked varied, but I had fun with them. I still have a few of them today, and so far, they still work and the batteries haven't gone spicy.

So you’re doing DankPods! I bought my first iPod in 2003 and I had to share it with my sister because she had lots of music synced from CDs. Then I got iPod mini when I started college, and was my main music player for few years until I upgraded for the iPod nano 4th gen, and I synced videos on it, and it filled up the 8GB storage that I had to keep swapping out videos or music from iTunes. That was my last iPod I bought, and went the smartphone route with Samsung Galaxy and iPhone as the successor to iPods!

I personally think the Nano 7th gen was the best iPod. At that point, I already had a iPhone and just wanted a dedicated music/podcast player for work. It was small, would work for 20hrs straight of playback, and all of the apps were optimized while being easy to find what you wanted. It's only drawback was the 16gb storage. Still have mine but the battery crapped out eight years ago so I can get a 6th gen touch. Now I'm using the Classic 7th but if Apple brought back the iPod line, I'd buy it in an instant but they've switched to the streaming and subscription model so I don't see them doing it.
