Yeah, id definitely recommend you play the pc port of majoras mask and wii u versions of wind waker and twilight princess. I would have recommended that you play the pc port of ocarina as a first time player as well. I could definitely see breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom being more your thing, they're much more based around the open world and exploration, and the map is incredible. Hope you do play more of them.

Honestly, I kinda liked google stadia. When it came out, I didn’t have a gaming pc. So I just used stadia to play because I had good wifi. And geforce just isn’t it.

I like the Xbox Series X, just because I can play my Gamepass games from PC on TV. Also, it seems there are more high quality third-party Xbox controllers than PlayStation ones.

I just got back from three weeks in Japan and was surprised to see that 'Link Between World' is just called 'A Link to the Past 2'. I'm not sure why they decided to change the name and make the connection tenuous in North America.

I think something worth mentioning regarding the promotional artwork-- The A Link to the Past GBA remake actually redoes all the promo art. Link is a bit more cutesy looking, and more in-line with how he looks in the artwork for the Oracle games. Proportionally, he's still basically the same as the SNES art, but his face is cuter and the art is cleaner. I think the Oracle games' Link design is actually the main inspiration for how Link's Awakening's anime Link looks. Down to the lime-green band on his cap and everything. Again, the proportions are less exaggerated, but it does feel like that was the inspiration. I also think Triforce Heroes is worth mentioning. It's this weird middle-ground. It is clearly based on A Link Between Worlds, and reuses a lot of assets. But then Link is Toon Link. I think the promo art for that game is fantastic. I absolutely support them using the Toon style for the characters.

An ex-girlfriend surprised me and bought me the 3DS game at the midnight launch.... I played it like 5 times.... I kinda felt bad. I still have it. Also, one of my favorite birthday parties was when a friend brought over their N64 and Smash Bros. We played till dawn.

I have been playing some of the Lego movie series games on Luna on the Fire TV stick with the grandkid. Good fun. Plus I have the play store on my Fire tablet thanks to the toolbox. And google has play games on PC in beta. Never mind the crap ton of games in my Steam library. Using a couple of Luna controllers and a Stadia controller changed over for bluetooth.

7:51 small correction, the game sprites were developed for 4:3, but they weren't developed to have square pixels. This is why in games like Kirby Super Star you'll end up with an egg-shaped Kirby if you play in 1:1 mode. He looks circular once the picture is stretched to 4:3. CRT displays would simply beam the image onto the screen at 4:3 without regard for how many "pixels" existed on each line, and developers knew this.

I work at a video game museum and i can tell you that there are still kids that like old nintendo stuff. One kid actually reminded me of young you, he was excitedly jumping and wanted to screamed to his dad that he found the nintendo room. Luckily I can confirm that the youth is also interested in retro gaming. I also started emulating more since I started working there like I did 14 years ago, good stuff.
