If u go to settings, im pretty sure u can change it. I could that with my gen 11 paperwhite and also with my gen 10 which is the one i use now. Just go to settings and u can figure out from there. I dont have my kindle on me rn to be more specific.

That’s why my case has a screen cover I don’t need anyone knowing what I’m reading not that I’m ashamed of it but I did have a teacher recognize a spicy book I was reading one time so I always kinda hide my covers now

I don't think you can do it if you have the ad version

You can only have the book cover on the screen if you don't have ads. If you have ads you can not change it unless you pay 20 to get rid of it.

option 1:I think you can ask Amazon to remove the ad ( some people say it’s free the other say you need to pay about 20 dollars) option 2 :you can go to settings click device option and the go to display cover and turn it on . PS:you should try option 2 first and if it doesn’t work option 1 if the ads are gone option 2
