My Jack O' Lantern has Worms! Easy Fun Pumpkin Carving for Halloween 2021

Fun and easy pumpkin carving. I use a variety of kitchen knives and a couple carving knives (because I broke a couple kitchen knives doing this...)
This pumpkin grew in my own pumpkin patch which grew from last years pumpkin carving seeds!

Jesus is my Savior! Why do I feel the need to tell you? Because I just want to make sure you know about Him, according to Romans 10:14.
Food for thought this week is Psalms 27, the whole chapter. Give it a read and some thought. Find comfort in troubling times.
Psalms 27
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.
4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.
5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
9 Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the Lord will take care of me.
11 Teach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.
12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;

And such as breathe out violence.
13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage,

You guys have it so easy! The only time I've done something like this I did it the traditional way (especially for Scotland) and carved a turnip. I'd have had more luck carving a block of stone! Good fun video, thanks for sharing :)

I learned this hack that if you cut a hole in the bottom you can move the pumpkins around once you're done carving them and hold it by the stump without having to worry about the lid coming off.

That was really cool to watch Rod and I especially liked the worms lol. My wife has bought the cheap pumpkin carving kits from the big W store but of course none off the tools that come in those sets really don’t work well at all so I have always gotten out some of my good kitchen knives but more often than not they are to long for the job, even the shorter pairing knives. I’ll definitely be breaking out my carving knives when I get around to cutting up the pumpkins that we have. Great video

I always get a kick out of you doing these "silly ones." Makes me chuckle. Love Psalm 27 - thanks for sharing. FYI I see you have the same problem with your vines that I have had - powdery mildew. A dilution of about 2 TBSP (one, if temp. is above 80) of baking soda per gallon of water with a tsp. of dish liquid, applied about every 2 weeks (every week if rainy) prior to the onset of the disease, can change the plant ph so it can better fend off the mildew. A spray of 6-8TBSP of 3% peroxide in a gallon of water every 7-14 days can also greatly strengthen all your plants, so they stay healthier. The peroxide really helped my tomato plants when they were lagging. There are yt videos on it. Just thought I'd mention it, for next year's garden. Blessings to you and yours.

@@RHumphrey You're welcome. If you didn't have mildew until the end of the season, then your vines were already very healthy, and baking soda spray wouldn't have made much difference. This year in WV the mildew held off till late, also. In previous years, it has been much worse - spreading from some of our native weeds that are susceptible.
