A Jeep is all about function. It's good to have a little vanity if it supports the vehicle's health. For $5 k , that's exceptional. As you posted this 4 years ago, I hope you still have it.

The piece in the truck is an "Instatrunk". It is a lockable space for the Jeep. If you want to keep anything of value in it it's great. Of course is not indestructible, but it will deter your passerby thief.

you mentioned the cleaning aspect. Now that it is painted, use a ceramic coating. I use them and they make it so much easier to keep clean. I'm about to install it on my 87 Jeep too.

That metal tray was called an Add a Trunk. They were later made out of plastic. But they created a little lockable trunk in the back for your belongings. I had one on my Jeep many years ago.

I love them too! Also regarding your question about the fan clutch. I'm not crazy about switching to electric fans. I'm sure there are a lot of upsides, but I think it could be a hassle wiring it up and keeping it reliable. I could be wrong but anytime I've come across a car for sale that had the electric fan swapped in it seemed to turn me off. Not looking to change your mind but thought I'd share my thoughts! Anyway good luck with your project:)

im 16 getting my license very soon, ive been looking for TJs, ive seen one for 8k 1999 110k miles. its been babied and never crashed come with hard and soft top. how much longer do you think itll last?
@MrPati00776 жыл бұрын
lil rocket They are known to last forever. The 4.0 is known to be the best engine. I think it's okay to pay a little more for a car that has proper service history. I was looking for a cheap one knowing that I will have to service just about everything, but now I have it the way I want. Rust is a big deal on TJ's check out the frame, especially by the rear wheel section. Some people go as far as replacing the entire frame, costly but they do and worth it. I just fixed my frame last week. You can find some real nice wranglers out there!
@yotakev996 жыл бұрын
I owned a 97 with 203,000 miles, a 2000 with 138,000 miles, and now a 93 with 108,000 miles. The 4.0 lasts forever if you keep it maintained

Hi, I did all the body and paint work myself and everything else also. It was pretty rough looking, I have a video of how it looked when I first bought it on my channel. I believe I saved quite a bit of money doing it all myself, just took some free time!

@tide22216 жыл бұрын
Madpatt it looks really good. Bet it gave u lot of work huh. I bought a Jeep just like yours was and I’m going to start my transformation too. What products did u use to remove the rust?
@MrPati00776 жыл бұрын
André Leal It was more work than I was expecting to say the least. After the video, I fixed the rear frame where it was rusted by buying a replacement section on ebay and all new stainless steel brake lines. Now it's as good as new! The driver rocker panel had the most rust on the body due to it having an accident, someone bondoed over it. In that area I welded in new sheet metal and over the welds used the bondo brand fiber glass over the welds to keep it from rusting instead of bondo. I buy it at menards for about $13 in a quart and comes with a hardener, it's green with hair and is just like applying bondo. In the metal seems I used 3m windshield urethane to keep water out. I also blasted the undercarriage and bought black rustoleum paint and applied it with a spray gun. It holds up a little better than por15. This was a tough project but totally worth it! I got to have it done my way!
