I'm going to heavily skimp down on the info here but it mostly boils down to three things. Religious practice, culture and ethnicity. It effectly goes back a hundred years and more thanks to Kurdish insurgents that were supported by the French, Russians and British to harm the ottoman empire. Territorial disputes began since the entiente didn't recognise the Kurdish state and British air and Iraq forces wiped them out starting the most recent hate train. But truly it goes back hundreds upon hundreds of years and is mostly a tribal matter.

Basher Assad said that Kurds are not hated or expelled from other Syrian diverse but they are not like any other groups of syria they always try to make their own territory in the country we perceived many tribes from abroad we didn't mistreat them like Armenians and Assyrians.
