Concerning where it says to about a tap or beat, it seems like when the first person translated the Quran, that was his translation, and others used that same translation, probably because the ones translating were not the best at English and used some incorrect translation, so beware of that. Someone whose native language was Arabic was probably not the best at translating, and most likely rely on the first translations such as Yusuf Ali etc...

The Bible (Ten Commandments) also states that God is one, so the concept of the Trinity most likely came from Hinduism, as Hinduism also have the Trinity. However in the Hindu Vedas it clearly states that God is one and has no form or image. The Vedas is a collection of everything and thus it looks like you have people's writings and original that came from God such as God is one and has no form. And this is exactly what it seems like happened to Christianity with its writers making up nice fantasies, such as someone died for their sins, so if someone died for your sins, that means you can keep doing bad things all your life and this is where most of humanity went wrong. How many Christians still goes to church? I've seen a video that clearly shows some Christians (probably today) and that the early Christians also prayed 5 times a day, and was very similar to the Muslim Salah (prayers) - they did not do the bow (ruku) they went directly into prostration as also stated in the Bible (Sijda) when Jesus fell on the ground and placed his head on the ground. I also saw a video where Jews were praying very similar to Muslims doing the bow (ruku) and prostration (sijda). So this tells me that Islam salah is the right way and has always been around from the beginning of man on how to worship God. So what happened? You think in the days of jesus and earlier the followers were all sitting on chairs? Or were they sitting on the ground like Muslims do today, and it's better to get a good leg stretch with legs crossed etc...which is healthy? I'm thinking that such changes to Jesus teachings was done politically to confuse the followers so they can do all kinds of bad things where when you do, you're easily controlled by the rulers and as we see how many businesses flourishes from bad things, such as weapons to kill, porn, adult movies etc and it seems never ending. In Islam you are responsible for all of your sins, actions, deeds etc...
It means beat them, the arabic verb is "daraba" and it means to hit/beat, not leave. Whoever translates it as leave is falsifying the Quran to make it more appealing to westerners. The verse also doesnt say that Men are the protectors of women, another mistranslation, "Qawwamun" means being in charge of, protecting can be part of that, but custodian is a better translation, it is from the root of the verb "qawama" meaning to stand firm, upright. In the next part of this sentence this is explained by saying that god favors them above women (fadala).
