Thank you for sharing you educational journey!! My journey is a bit similar as I attended two high schools as my parents moved me and my brother to another state when I finished the 11th grade 😕. I never took an AP courses and my grades weren't excellent so I did the CC route first which I only had to take remedial writing II before taking English comp I and II. Doing CC first was the best decision I made as my it was intro to sociology where I decided to major in sociology. It's interesting you mentioned about Latino dad's being involved in their children's education because my undergrad thesis actually explored Latino men obtaining four-year degrees and in my interviews with Latino men at my University I found that mothers encouragement was really strong and fathers were not fully mentioned a lot in their decision to continue school or to pursue a bachelor's degree. I like to know what did find in your research! I hear you on the break, I took a two-year break between undergrad and then going for my masters, then another two year break after my master's to now pursuing my PhD starting this fall. I actually want to work at a CC after getting my PhD. I am an adjunct professor at the CC I attended and it has been one of the best working experiences and definitely love the student engagement and mentoring them!

Hi, the first step would be for you to find programs you wish to apply to by researching on the web. Then you need to figure out if you qualify.

I don’t know much about it tbh. I’ve only used it for basic things, but my colleagues said it was really good. Some of my colleagues preferred to keep and have their spouses and children on ucsd insurance than to be moved to their spouses work insurance. I’m not sure if this helps. If you have specific questions about it, you can always contact the prospective program and ask.
