How I Got Into Medical School...
My road to medical school was far from smooth sailing. My GPA and MCAT weren't the best and my medical school application cycle was a rollercoaster! I always said that once I completed my first year of medical school, I would sit down and share my journey, with all the ups, downs, twists, and turns. From my journey at Spelman to where I am now, I talk about how God crafted my story. No matter where you are in your journey, let my story be proof to you that God never fails and a reminder to trust in God's divine timing. This entire journey was God-ordained.

Hey I have questions about MHS at Meharry. First off congratulations on everything... my question is what made you apply to Meharry and what GPA you had to get into that program. Their website is very vague and I would to hear your experience

Hi Jae’nae! Thank you so much! Meharry was on my list because I loved the mission statement of the school and would have loved to continue my education at another HBCU. I remember not being 100% sure about the requirements for the MHS program when I applied, mostly because I didn’t know abou it. I applied to their medical school and was referred to the MHS program so I didn’t apply directly to the MHS program and only submitted my AMCAS application. In those situations, I was told they refer students who show promise but may need a little bit more prep before beginning med or dental school to the MHS program, almost like a post baccalaureate option. I’m not sure of a specific GPA cut off and don’t want to steer you wrong in that arena. If you are interested in applying, I’d recommend reaching out directly to the director of admissions to introduce yourself and ask questions.
