Well that was a great story of your early beginning. A short story if I May regarding guitar. It’s very hard to be self taught. All the utubers and instruction people out there can make learning even more difficult. I’ve been at it for 8 years and it feels like 2 to 4 years. Always looking for good content, fun, to progress to higher levels. Practicing 2 plus hours a day. A lot of repetition helps to memorize. Maybe because I’m 67 years old now. I played clarinet back in school and in my teen years the drums. Marriage and kids caused me to stop all music. But a good friend bought me a guitar and amp. So I’m thankful for him getting me back in music. Well keep up the good work Mr Tomo. That’s the short story of Mike.

I've been a drummer for 25 years now. Church gigs mostly but I'm comfortable with many styles of music. For Lent I decided to finally dedicate to learning how to play guitar and your videos have helped tremendously. It's kind of fun because it's a completely foreign instrument and I have no natural affinity for it, which I can't say the same for when I took up drumset. I'm trying to stay optimistic and dedicated despite how hard it is. The thought of being able to just navigate around the instrument at the pace of what I might consider an intermediate almost made me tear up, but I know I'll get there if I keep at it and practice and stay positive like you said 😊

Luck Favors the prepared mind. Without struggle there is:No Progress, No Strength, No Success, No appreciation for achievements. Nothing is what it is; it is what we can do with it. There are so many sayings to fit this. But, most do not believe, Believe in themselves. Life is always better with a true mate. Eyes you trust to see that your judgment is true. I certainly wish more people would have a “Can Do”instead of “You Do” attitude. Instant Gratification only last for an instant. Then PooF! It’s s gone! If you are not happy without what you seek it is doubtful you’ll be happy with it. Positivity Nation starts in ones own Person. Blessings, Dear Tomosan.

You are my inspiration. I want to be like you when I grow up. It must be so difficult to talk to a camera about these things. Videos like that move me so much. You are so much more than the greatest guitar and music teacher out there. One day Ill meet you.

A fabulous early Christmas gift straight from your heart to all of us students. You brought to mind a saying from Gerald Michaelson's book "Sun Tzu for Success", where he wrote, "From deep within us, we need to avoid 'just fake it' and turn on the internal automatic pilot of 'just do it', the right way for the right reasons." Thank you, Tomo.

Aha, descobri porque ele fala português!!! Trabalhou com um brasileiro no início da vida! Parabéns pela vitória, espero que outros garotos assistam seus vídeos e, principalmente este, para que se inspirem e sigam adiante. Hugs from Brazil!!!

Thank you Tomo for the Friday Wisdom! Today during practice I thougth of this video when you said "never give up", totally true. A Hungarian proverb says " You can live without a horse but then why would you live?" I think this is totally true with guitar. Have a great weekend. (Also I'm looking forward to see in the next week's episode if the dehumidifier left on or not :)

You're welcome! I am trying to post my Tomo Talk Video on every Friday! Great one! We can expect too much too fast but why not? That's why I don't think to be number one or the best... I just want to be a little above the middle! This way I can keep going! Often I forget!
