This was so informative, thanks for sharing! Also I really appreciate you sharing the cost, I think it’s important to highlight the crazy high cost of this process. I wish every woman had the option of IVF without having to think about whether or not they could afford it.

This whole journey was fascinating. Especially through your perspective. Because I also like my life the way it is but I like knowing that there’s this type of option for me later on. The honesty and frankness of it all was greatly appreciated!!

I feel like I was so ignorant. I fully thought like this process guaranteed a bunch of healthy embryos. That is so wild the lengths women sometimes have to go through for it to possibly end up being for nothing. Such a kind spirit Erin, when you and Tj do decide it’s time I just know yall will raise such an amazing person. Wish more embryos were good but 1 is better than 0 and if you decide to re do the process hopefully it’s a lot more !

I am so happy that you and TJ were able to do this to help plan your family in the future. Thank you again for bringing us along for the ride, because it was absolutely facinating. I did have flashbacks each time I watched you give yourself an injection. I have to inject myself in the belly twice a day with blood thinners anytime I have any kind of surgery, including getting teeth pulled. Fortunately, I don't have to play chemist and mix them myself like you had to.

I’m super thankful for you for showing this whole process! I was diagnosed w/ endometriosis when I was 15 and I turned 32 this year. I’ve thought about IVF for a few years and it’s not necessarily affordable for me right now and that’s okay. I’m hoping we have a good outcome with the election to where I can look into it further and possibly move forward with it 🫶🏻

Okay.. I am seriously so impressed with you! You took all this on like a total champ. I’ve never been down the IVF journey but I’ve been a type 1 diabetic for 25 years. Injections aren’t fun. I hope you are so incredibly proud of yourself 👏

You jumped straight into learning to prepare the medicine and just went straight for the injection! I would’ve been so nervous and scared! Best of luck in the rest of y’all’s journey, y’all are gonna be great parents someday ☺️

Not doing IVF but during the pandemic I became a type 1 diabetic at age 30 and had to learn to give myself injections and it was traumatic so it was interesting seeing your experience with needles. You were so brave!! I was a baby about it but now it’s no bigger deal to me

That was incredible, thank you for taking us along on that journey that I feel like very few of us really know much about! I'm reminded so much of Grace Helbig's cancer vlogs, how she likewise helped destigmatize and remove many of the unknown fears about such an important subject that is only vaguely known by anyone that hasn't gone through it just...a celebration of life coming from the opposite direction and with and equally happy and delightful ending! I wish you all and only the best, you're amazing Erin!!! 🤎

I am curious about storage now. Obviously your embryos arent in your freezer at home. But going forward they have them in their possession and you pay a monthly fee to whom? Also what happens if they close or go bankrupt or change their phone number? Like what protections are there for your embryos? Also, is there an expiration date on your frozen embryo? Thanks for sharing all of this! I banked my sons cordblood with Viacord out of Boston in 2011. I paid $2k for the initial kit to preserve it during his delivery, and I pay a yearly storage fee of $125 for them to maintain it. But if its ever needed for him, i have peace of mind knowing we have it. I know its conpletely different than IVF I just thought it was a similar idea with freezing.

I am a medical student highly considering REI so i love to hear the behind the scenes of what it is actually like for a patient! it seems like such a rewarding field - i will say it is a ton of school (4 years undergrad, 4 years medical school, 4 years residency in OBGYN, and 3 years fellowship in REI) but so many opportunities for good 😊

Thanks for sharing and the transparency. I know you have fears of going through pregnancy. Do you think you would get a surrogate or carry yourself? I had a geriatric pregnancy because I was 36. I went off the pill and got pregnant in 3 months. I really enjoyed being pregnant. I would highly recommend trying the natural route because I'm sure a surrogate is outrageously expensive and same with having to the IVF a second time if you need more eggs.

$25k is about how much it cost us too. I had so many complications though that it took about 2.5 years and a lot of procedures and money to even get to a point where I could do an egg retrieval. I didn’t calculate any of that into my total.

Hey Erin, i noticed when you were injecting the Ganirelix in your car you expressed the air bubble from in the syringe. This isn't necessary, the air bubble is actually in their to help ensure all the medication is delivered. You just need to ensure the bubble is at the top of the syringe towards the part you push down on, giving the syringe a little flick can move the bubble. I know you have probably finished due to these videos but just in case you have to go again thought i'd let you know. i had to go through all this and then they cancelled my round due to poor visuals on my follicles :( i wish you all the best love the videos

I know it's too late for you, but for anyone else maybe starting this process, the Ganirelix needle is kind of blunt, so if you have to do it I was told to go at the injection site like a dart and it will be easier :)
@margaritakmpАй бұрын
This is probably an obvious question, but the $25k is for everything up to the point of retrieving/storing the embryos? And then it will cost more money to get them implanted? Or is that relatively cheap once you're ready?

I've always had cramping during ovulation so I can only imagine what ovulating on literal steroids would be like! I am curious if this process has made you feel closer to being ready to have a baby? Youre only 33 ? so you have a fair amount of good healthy baby carrying years left too so if youre ready in like 2 years will you go egg first or try the old fashioned way first? Congrats on the embryos!
