There are so many better Airlines flying in Africa than KQ. I travelled three times, the first from Heathrow to Entebbe, reached Nairobi and they told me I had been put on waiting list Nairobi Entebbe, flight was full and the next available slot was 12hr later. So they confirmed my flight to Entebbe knowing they would hold me at Nairobi, traveling 8Hrs then spending 12hrs at the airport! Second flight was to Kinshasa and I arrived there but they had left my 🧳 behind. Had a week meeting but had not luggage and they brought it three days later. Then travelled from Burundi to Entebbe via Nairobi and still luggage was left behind. That was the last I would ever travel them. ET SA and Rwandair are far better than them. Air Tz haven't travelled it yet but I presume they are better too. KQ over dominated the African Market for so long that they become complacent, the reason today they still don't appreciate customer services is key to one coming back.

Forgetting if there are good at their job too, they still come here and read our comments which enables them to improve. So don't suppress public debate, actually that is cyber bullying.

The key word here is 'African'. Kenya Airways is a great Airline with the 'Safari Spirit' and I have flown many times on it and always admired the warmth and hospitality of the ground staff and cabin crew. You also have to look at it from his perspective. This is a guy who has flown some of the best airlines in the world. And he has experienced some of the best service in the world. So there’s a certain standard to which he has built in qualify the airlines flies on and if the airline does not meet that standard he will grade it appropriately. Now let us come to Kenya airways. no lie but the Airline has fallen off. It is not what it used to be 20 years ago. The airline is in massive debt poor management and corruption. He began by saying kenya airways was a promising airline. Indeed it was but now it’s not even a shadow of its former self. Compared to other airlines even in its own home Country it is way expensive, luggage loss has now become common, staff strikes have also become common and finally like I said before huge debt due to poor management. The In plane service is the only thing they have going for them. Sam Chui is right kenya airways has fallen off and as a kenyan i agree. He does have some positivez and praise for ethopian airlines which is Africas only best performing airline. Though Rwanda Air if tbey keep in path will soon overtake them but that is in the distant Future.

One time they pulled a Somali-American sister in front of me in the line with two kids, flying back to Minneapolis via Amsterdam. They were very aggressive to her. There was a white lady between that sister and I. So they didn't bother the white lady at all. They straight came at me, asking me some questions about Toronto since I said was going back to Toronto. And no presenting your best self before an influential reviewer isn't being "fake" but more like having good business skills. If the business is impressive it might get good publicity far and wide.

The incompetence of this airline is breathtaking. You have a vlogger on board with almost 3 million subscribers. Untold numbers of people are going to see this video forever and they don't pull out all the stops. This video should be a mandatory part of their training process moving forward. Bad reviews will punish a company in the market place.

Lovely video Sam. I have flown KQ many times and fully agree with your observations. The best experience is in the air. The Pride Lounge is definitely the better of the two. KQ has good potential which they should realize by improving the airport experience. I really like their nuts (macadamia, cashews, etc) and always opt for an extra pack while on board. Another great review Sam - much appreciated!

Cant fault KQ for KIAA ground staff. At least it matters not what airline you travelling on, you will get the same treatment 😔 As for the actual crew, they are fantastic and will do what they can with what they have. So happy KQ has weathered the storm. They got well beaten up and its showing in this review, but still. Stellar effort from the airline. Makes us proud 🙂🇰🇪

Kenya Airways is wonderful Airline, All KQ needs is a top notch leader to guide and bring about quality & standards to customer service/ experience ( definitely not hostility as seen at the boarding gate) . There was once Bram Steller ( Ex COO) at the helm of KQ, at its relishing comeback years and he steered this airline to a direction, that they are now taking forward. Sam had done a wonderful job at flagging this audit, there is learning to take forward and improve on. Kenya is a great country and much of the people in Kenya a great humans. I wish KQ well and better years to come.

Great video Sam, you have flown so many airlines around the world, I would recommend that you try flying on LATAM Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner from LA to Santiago and then explore South America just like how you explored around Africa, I flew on LATAM Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to Santiago from LA on March 10 2022 on economy class, my review was tight seats, no sleep, but amazing food, and then I flew back after two weeks of visiting my family and exploring amazing places in Chile I flew back, almost the same thing when I flew back except I slept this time and I think it was because I was so tired and exhausted because the airport at Santiago is really complicated, my parents and I had a difficult time in the airport when we arrived and when we departed, by experience on LATAM was alright, I think they seats on economy class to tight, but they have great food, I wonder what you have to say about LATAM, but explore the rest of South America, I think one coolest guys who is passionate about aviation’s, I am such a big fan, I hope to meet you in person one day when I am traveling, or even when I am planespotting in LAX or when I go Mojave or Victorville

I don't blame the airliner as much as Sam Chui for expecting to be allowed to shoot videos. Different countries have different laws regarding shooting vids at the airport. People's consent is also a factor. To expect emirates like service in the Business class of an African airliner was a tad too much. He should have encouraged them so they could reach the level of Ethiopian airlines. It's good to see African nations having such good airliners.
@jenelaina56652 жыл бұрын
He was filming in the cockpit, obviously he got or was offered permission from the airline beforehand. The message not getting down to the airport staff is just not the best corporate PR/organization.
@pacmanc81032 жыл бұрын
In my experience, laws restricting filming or picture-taking at airports are generally focused on security concerns, certainly not people boarding an aircraft within a boarding gate. I agree that in some cultures (in my travels, particularly conservative Muslim ones) photographs of people may not be welcomed, but I’ve yet to encounter an airline staff making a public announcement stop and approach a passenger in a manner the ground agent did in this video - anywhere. I’m curious why one wouldn’t expect a similar level of service on an African carrier’s business class to business class on Emirates, Lufthansa, American, or any other airline. A ‘tad too much’ - huh? I find the statement really unfortunate. Additionally, exactly what sort of ‘encouragement’ could Sam offer that would help them ‘reach the level of Ethiopian…’? Sorry, I find your entire comment ‘a tad offensive’ to both Sam and Kenya Airways.
@Jigson052 жыл бұрын
@@pacmanc8103 How is it offensive to Kenyan airways. I'm supporting them. As far as the encouragement factor is concerned, Sam has close to 3m subs. He is widely known in the aviation industry as the THE AVIATION KZbinR. He could have helped them by being understanding of the situation and been a bit positive. If someone makes a vid of me, I wouldn't be fine with it. You judge an airline based on their country, their economy, the efforts they are making to run a good airliner about which, lot of PPL have good reviews.

@@Jigson05 Kenya has had terror attacks before that's why all Airports, Railway terminals, government buildings and Malls have a no filming Policy, same case with JFK after 9/11. And by the way Kenya airways is a more quality airline compared to Ethiopian. Ethiopian airline is cheaper with less quality generally. Not to mention an Ethiopian airline just crushed recently killing hundreds. KQ is safer

@@nairobinyeusi5811 this comment makes me feel to think you as a narrow minded person. how can you compare the trash airline with the world class airline Ethiopian man. honestly Ethiopian is another level and don't be emotional on that and don't be jealous as well. and for the crash you said it tells me that you guys are far from info or there is something else missing. don't you know that it is the fault of Boeing or should i tell you now? this incident could happen on any other similar world class airlines because it is not the fault of the airline rather the manufacturer. the crash is similar with that of lion air and happened for the second time but the time the world heard the news about Ethiopian crash all landed the max 8 planes including KQ this immediate action of the world indicates the reputation of the airline and made other to think of something wrong on the plane. i am writing all of this because i think that you are far from info zone. lol and You have no guarantee that KQ is safer as it is also exposed for many untold accidents.
