Pat, I can honestly say when you share pieces of your kit that were associated with the unit, all of your fans, including me truly appreciate the history and connection. Thank you so much for sharing some of these items. I literally paused and looked at the Horrigan for 10 minutes. Amazing!!

Pat, the knife you forgot the name of at around 5:10 is from Battle Horse Knives but it appears to be one made for Panteo Productions. I assume they gave that to you when you were instructing for them. There is a picture on their website with this exact knife under a lesson called Choosing Your Knife with Battle Horse Knives.

The Gerber BMF - I bought one at Ranger Joe’s in Columbus, GA in 87. Mine has the smooth spine, no teeth. I probably bought it based on a Soldier of Fortune review. I used it liberally. Never broke it. The Silva compass finally developed a bubble. Knives are personal. Great video!

Great collection & vid. We shot with some guys from Homeland 4 or 5 years ago and they had Colonel blades on their kit. Later on we grabbed a beer and went over the concept and training with that style defense of knife. I was sold, and I now have two fixed blades and one of the folders. One of them is with me every day, super strong awesome design.

I made a big ol blade out of a gear I found in the weeds out in Akutan. I brought it home and Dura coated it paracord wrapped the blade and made a kydex sheath for it. We have been using it for the camp knife/wood splitter for about six years now. It is not practical at all other than what it is being used for now.

Pat, if you're interested in WWII history associated with the Nepali Ghurka Regiment ToraBlades sells functional, hand forged, WWII Ghurka Kukri remakes, by the exact WWII specifications, all forged from car leaf springs, made in Nepal. The ToraBlades Battalion Kukhuri is very functional, very quick on the thrust & cut, works very well in Tameshigiri cutting test and has historical ties to WWII battles where small units of Nepali Ghurkas ambushed Imperial Japanese troops in close quarters jungle warfare using only their kukhuri blades, surprise, speed and violence of action. HOOAH. Rendezvous with Destiny brother.

I'm not a knife nerd, but it does seem like I have a couple dozen scattered around the house. I usually default my Swiss Army knife and/or my folding Leatherman (buck style) knife. The Swiss Army knife is nice because it has a small built-in magnifying glass and saves me from some of those "crap forgot my readers" moments when i need to look at a small part or fine print on something. I think I might use the phillips screwdrivers on both of them more than the blades.
