To the uninitiated ... David waited patiently to get them all because pigs are incredibly smart. If you don't catch the entire sounder, the surviving pigs won't enter such a trap anymore, and through example teach that behavior to younger pigs.

That's true, hogs to this day can't be trapped in some parts of Kentucky because in the 1920's a failed trapping has educated a century worth of hogs still passing down the story to this day through pictures scratched in dirt with their cloven hooves.

Seriously man, you do good work. Feral hogs are stupidly dangerous and destructive. I lost my dog to a sounder a few months ago and I’ve been chased up a tree by a MASSIVE boar. I’ve even caught them going after my sheep. It’s insane. Trappers like you are a real help. Keep doing what you’re doing

I like the idea of the larger trap. It may be more expensive with materials, harder to haul and set up / take down, but with the interior length and wider gates I think you'll get a lot less dodging out when the doors drop. If you have the numbers in your area, which it certainly looks like, then you'll be hitting whole sounders or even two at a time, particularly if you can keep it baited for a few days without getting jumpy and hitting the trigger. Having done pest control for feral animals I can say that you know when you're succeeding because you start running out of work! lol.

HI David, I enjoy your videos.. Might be easier if you stand on the other side of the trap doors . That way the pigs will be bunched up by the door when you knock them in the head and you wont have to drag them all the way across the trap from the opposite side . 25 pigs x 2 trips each x20 feet diameter = 1000 feet less walking and dragging =25 pigs x 100 lb average each = 2500 lb dragging Oak

So basically there are multiple reason why I didn’t. 1: the trucks were behind us. Always best to shoot away. 2: the blood from hogs won’t be piled up at the gate incase more hogs show up later. Which I really don’t worry about but it’s like the number 2 question I get every day. 3: there won’t be as much blood in Video for KZbin to try to take video down. 4: I wasn’t really thinking at the time. So this actually should be #1 reason 😂

What'd you do with all that meat? Do you keep it all or do you have to split it with the property owner?

Note to Miss Stephanie, it's easier on your back if you drag two at a time, one in each hand. This holds true for jugs of water or pails of sand,,, always carry one in each hand. God Bless.

David: I just got my wife to watch and she said that was more hogs than she had ever seen. BUT: she said that Stephanie had to love you or like you because if that were me, she would have been doing all of the head knocking. Then she would stand and do all of the chin slapping while I loaded them. We did laugh while we watched. Don't have hogs like that here but buddy of mine in Arkansas wants me to come down there and go with him some time. My problem is/was Coyotes that worked on my deer and turkey population. Will let you get back to it. God Bless and Tell Steph that Brenda said hello from East Tennessee.
