First off Congratulations guys!!!......I worked with you for 13 years, as I retired from OHP last year. You and I have had several conversations about this decision and man I have to say...I'm 100% behind you, you guys won't regret it a bit. I'm telling you it will be a week or 2 down the road and you will realize a ton of stress has dropped away, that you never knew was there and that your worries in life can now be focused on those which matter to you the most. Don't listen to any nay sayers, send them my way, I can tell them you served this great state with dignity and pride....and it is a early retirement! Let DPS call it what it wants, you don't send retirement checks to someone who quits a job. You simply didn't stay in as long as they may have liked. You simply stayed for the amount of time was right for you and your family. Removing stress from your family, including your children, they understand more than most people give them credit for, is as big as a gift as you can give them. You can now be present!!!....You guys stay safe, this is a great move that you won't regret.....great video!

He continued with inviting some of his buddies for cook outs and Dinners.Yes,Dad decided to travel with his buddies to Alaska. But to be honest it changed my Dad.He bought some Beagles,we stayed in touch with our families,we had fun.We had to adapt. But All of that combined was in his heart and Soul. But now my sweet Mom and Dad are Gone, and it tears at my heart, because now! If walking by faith was easy everyone would do iT! Faith Is The Substance Of Things Hoped For The Evidence Of Things Unseen. When I was at a small college I met someone living by faith..I told the Lord..I WANT TO LIVE BY FAITH! I do now..it means I don't always see how He will do it...but HE multiplies what I have to go further. I was hurt by a driver, lung injured by air bag...I am paying off medical and plan to move to AZ in 1 year 5 months. (THAT IS AN AMAZING MIRACLE! If you knew what I live on you'd be amazed how God has made a way!) I have NO IDEA how an AZ move is going to come together! Living with limits adds to challenge...but it isn't about my means It's about following where He leads. I am happy for you all! These are weird times! I work PT for the Police as a crossing guard...we haven't worked since March 16. It breaks my heart to see needless officers hurt! As in all things some people are law abiding some need the law to be their inner compass. Love your animals ... and journey!

In 2017 on a road trip back from Washington state you pulled me over. I was feeling my music to much and was speeding. My boyfriend's niece was sleeping in the back and had slipped the shoulder strap of to get more comfortable. From the start you were so respectful and made me feel at ease. I was fully expecting a ticket for speeding but to my surprise you gave me a warning for my speed. I happily excepted the seatbelts violation. I now drive with cruise control engaged on long road trips. Enjoy your retirement from the OK state highway patrol.

Four years before that I was a reserved deputy working part time, so I was a sworn deputy for 30 years. You are exactly right, that you know when it's time to go. I was planning on working another couple of years, but God said, it's time to leave there. Best decision I ever made. Especially with the things the way are today. When it's time it's time. You will look back in a few months and realize it was a good time to retire. The current unrest in the country makes law enforcement too risky for a family man. Enjoy this new chapter that God has in store for you!

Congratulations to you both and Best wishes for your future !! I live in Louisiana and have 2 sons both in Law Enforcement for 15 years. I understand your situation and the times we live in now. Most people don't understand that. Both my sons have been ambushed where there 2 partners and 1 cousin were killed. My sons were spared but Their lives have been changed. We have been watching your Channel for some time and love it. Keep it up and keep it real. Thank you for your service and again Best Wishes to you and your family. Life your life to the fullest. God Bless !!!

Daniel I know the feelings that you and your wife are having. After 15 years as Deputy I too took an early retirement. At the time it was one of the hardest decision that I had ever made. All my life growing up there was nothing more important to me than to become a Peace Officer. My career began in the very ‘80’s and ran through the mid ‘90’s. After seeing things that you and I have seem, it taking a toll on you and your family. My wife and I talked for months about me taking an early retirement. My son was a year old and my daughter 3. And I wanted to be there for them. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. Stay safe, stay healthy and keep your powder dry 👍👍😎👍👍

I was in law enforcement for several years and I totally understand why you got out. The security of the job is also a big deterrent to leave but I believe you made the right decision. I believe God wants you to do what you are doing. May God Bless you and DeJay and your family! Keep the videos coming!

Change is always hard, but when feel God tugging at your hearts, it’s best to obey. Your testimony will touch thousands. Take it from someone who is 70, life flys by. Kids grow up so fast, then they leave, go to College, get married, and you say, gee I wish I had spent more time with them. You’re putting your trust in God to provide and He will. Congratulations to you all. Excited to see what is to come.🥰✝️

God bless y’all! God called me away from a 22 year career in forestry to become a local missionary in central Georgia with Fellowship of Christian Athletes as an Outdoors representative. I saved up 4 months worth of savings and it was gone in no time. God has been faithful to me. He asks us to be faithful to him. I get to use God’s Creation as a platform to bring others to Christ. People see your family’s faith in your videos! Keep doing what you do!

I started crying right off the bat 😭 I'm a heart on my sleeve old woman 😉 Change is not often desired at the time but we adapt, improvise and overcome adequately as time passes on. I don't know how I stumbled into your channel but I subscribed rather quickly. I save your stuff to a playlist that I call, "Arms and Dutch". I started watching several people from your recommendation. I retired early because of a lay off at my secure job 7 years ago now. I haven't regretted it. The stress is way less and that amounts to a lot of peace for your whole family. I wish you all the best in your new adventures. I'll keep watching and cheering for Houston to win the pumpkin contest and for Emily to keep blossoming into a sweet young woman and your oldest son too as he reaches for his goals in life. Plus the things Mrs Arms can dive into with renewed energy and joy. You folks are truly blessed to have the opportunity to do this. I'm happy for you all. God bless you and keep you in His tender care, in Jesus name amen. 💖🇺🇸🙏✝️🛐💖

Listening to Deejay talk about how you were both in the OHP I remember my best friend's Mom and what she went through having a husband working for the Texas HP...the things he saw, the time convicts escaped in our county back in the 70s. Spouses go through all the emotions also. I started watching your channel for the gardening tips, but then seeing your family life and the Godly life yall lead, keeps me coming back. God bless you all in your new endeavors!❤

I started crying as soon as u walked out of your house... i cried when I saw DJ crying, im still crying.... God has big plans for you, and your family. God knows and told you when you needed to do this. He knows something that you don't know. I believe something was going to happen in the future before you reached your 20 yrs. You are a very Blessed Family, i believe you made the correct decision to an early retirement. I know this was a difficult decision for you and your wife .... God is with you every step of this new journey.... right now im scared for your, because its so emotional, the not knowing how this will be, but, I believe you made the right decision for you, your safety, your wife DJ, to not go thru something that could be horrible. No one knows the future, if we did everyones life would be very different. I pray for you, DJ, your kids. But, you will have so many many memories, fun times, stressful times, and just enjoy what you have. Take a deep breath DJ, I love you all very much, even down to Rufus...bear is so loving and Jemma is a big dog like the rest... I cant wait to enjoy more videos of your life. And all the soon to be catch and cooks, and can't wait for deer season to see ya cook up that catch.... i love you all ... im sure you won't get to read all of these comments, but want you to know, I'm one of your biggest fans and im wanting DJ to take our 1yr wedding anniversary in Norman ... i will contact her on her photography page. .... Thank you for your service, Thanking God for your safety. So much love from Moore,Oklahoma... i visit Sulfer 5 or 6 times a yr to camp and fish.... hope to see ya down there sometime... that would be awesome. Love you all..Prayers as well.

Oklahoma just lost one of the best Law Enforcement officers. I know, within your heart and soul, you will always be a Law Enforcement officer. You live by God's law and the laws of the USA and are a straight up person, husband and father. Congratulations!
