My DSP is trash. So I’m probably on that same route to leaving. Dsps definitely make or break this job. The job itself is easy af. But the micromanaging and bogus ass rules and pressure to meet amazons RIDICULOUS standards is enough to make any driver say “yea I’m good”

I used to work at USPS, the happiest day of my life was when I put my two week notice. These type of jobs are not worth it. I went to get my class B CDL and became a bus driver, best decision ever.

@exelixi8667

@@leepialong not really. So at the bus company where I work, right now I'm getting paid 28.50$ per hour, and guaranteed 28 hours a week. I go to work at 7:10 am, go to do my 2 morning routes and I'm back in the office by 9 am. And then I get to go home relax, eat, take a nap and then go back to work at 2:20 pm to do my afternoon route, and I'm back in the office by 3:30 pm. So I basically have to deal with kids for only like 20-25 minutes in the morning and afternoon, then you just go back to the office, park your bus and chill or just go home since they guarantee your hours. And you can get more hours if you do a midday route, probably between 30-35 hours a week. Just look it this way, you are getting paid for sitting your ass down and drive for like 40 minutes in the morning and then 40 minutes in the afternoon, no heavy lifting, no dealing with customers, no cleaning no nothing. Just make sure your bus is in good condition and that's it.

You should have used the opportunity to let that DSP owner know that you were leaving because you didn't like the vibe of the DSP. It would help the owner figure out ways to help the drivers feel more apart of a closely knit team. Having BBQs every month or so helps to bring the team together; so does having company outings at different venues such as a bowling night, etc. It doesn't help much if you don't communicate. Good luck and God bless 🙏

Amazon was dope with the right people! They made the bs funny lol. A coworker of mine, Jose, pretty much the Mexican version of me , we had Lynbrook from station DNY4 … when we found out the harder (faster) you worked the bigger the Route got. Oh we bested the system! We took extremely long and made a 180-200 stop route down to 130-150. And to keep it that way we finish around 5-6 by going mad slow. It was a breeze! Our DSP in Long Island years ago would give 1.25 for each package rescued. So you know we were rescuing like crazy. That plus we were getting paid hourly. I’m easily rescuing 150 plus packages for the rezy ( residential). Then they cut it down to .25 a package -_-! Then got mad when ppl wouldn’t rescue people anymore. If I ever got a lazy day and was rescued I would put all the apartments packages in a tote bag I just opened and put a couple houses on top so they wouldn’t notice, lmao. The best day I would say is when a coworker and I spent 3 hours at a Chinese restaurant in Lynbrook. Fun times. Life moves on though. Chase your dreams!
@Gaming-inthezone
@Gaming-inthezone 2 жыл бұрын
At what time did you use to start to work to finish like around 5 - 6? I am doing it in long Island too, I have three weeks working and it sucks, they give me usually from 125 to 164 stops, my van usually is so full with packages that I can't even move inside and sometimes I have to take bags of packages out to find an overflow package, I start around 11:45am to 12 and always finish 8 to 9:45pm.
@mdh1048
@mdh1048 2 жыл бұрын
@@Gaming-inthezone We we’re with DSP Deliver OL ( Online Logistics ). We were the first DSP IN AND OUT. We started at 7-8 am got to the warehouse at 9 and was out by 9:20. Would get to the first stop by like 10:15-10:30 … 11 if your really driving slow. Moving my fastest, no breaks, I could finish a 190 stop by 1-3 pm depending if I wanted to rescue. Listen if you got apartments. Brother skip them and do all your residential first. (Warning you) you WILL FINISH early and make the route bigger for someone else though… maybe even yourself the next time you get the same route. In order to counter this rabbit issue you should slow down accordingly so that you don’t finish to early or take exact long on your apartments. Just make sure you do everything by the books with the apartments so they don’t complain as well. We also didn’t have the smaller Amazon vans. They are tiny compared to the regular sprinter vans we had. In the sprinter van I was able to stack up 3-4 tote bags in a single column. And could fit 28 bags in sequential order with 30plus overflow in the vans WITH SPACE to move around. We also left the vans on and a camera wasn’t watching us 24/7 to make sure we had seatbelts on because we DID NOT.
@mdh1048
@mdh1048 2 жыл бұрын
@@Gaming-inthezone some other tips! I would unload ATLEAST 3 bags into the front in sequential order so I didn’t have to waste time switching bags all day. One bag in the middle of the seats. One bag in passenger seat and the final bag by the passenger feet. Sometimes if your are fast enough you can label the overflow the same number it associated with the bags. And face them all the same way. Use them Tetris skills/Justus lol

@@primenate What you call "hating on others" is the misinformation you're spreading. Your advice is plain erroneous and dangerous! If someone is to follow your "delivery techniques" and get injured they should serve you with a lawsuit! I'm surprised Amazon or other DSP's haven't sent you cease and desist orders. What you're spewing is utterly irresponsible, but again when a lawsuit is file against you, there's plenty of footage to prove a case against you. What makes you think Amazon will change….❓ What they will do is, keep increasing the pay and give sign-on bonuses to attract desperate people. This is America, there are plenty of desperate and low-wage workers to attract. Amazon should be a bridge job, temp, to something (whatever your dream is) that you will enjoy or at least don’t mind going to everyday and retired from.

I don't mind hard work... I just don't like being overworked. That's the key difference. I started 2 months ago. We recently was given a new area due to another dsp shutting down. For the past month now they've been giving me this new area and my stop ratio dropped from 26-28 packages an hr to 15-18 packages an hr due to the new route. The traffic in this new route can make or break your day and your plans on delivery efficiently. I'm talking like spending 8mins at a stop light on a 6-way intersections for a stop that's only 1-2mins away. Somedays I can easily knock out 30-35 stops within the first hour, but then it drops and I average 25-28 stops per hour at the end of my route. I started getting used to my route of 160-170 where I was finishing by 6-7pm... so they added 10 & another 10... I just had 190 last week with 290 packages and was able to knock it out, but the ai route made it easier + I was able to pick and choose my stops while organizing... yesterday they gave me 190... with 250 packages, but the routing was ass because I had so many schools that closed by 3-4pm that I had to choose between my stop ratio or sacrifice my stop ratio early on to deliver those packages first that were 5-15mins apart just in driving... I chose my stop ratio @ like 3:40 and they sent my a rescue of 35 stops, but I gave them 28. At that time I had already knock out almost 100 stops... I ended up finishing my route by like 6:50pm... I could've easily finished the rest of my route by myself, but most of the stops I gave to the rescue were the ones at the end of my route that were timed deliveries.

I’m taking this as a blessing from Amazon at the same time I feel sad for everyone in my team especially the owner who had put so much in his business, who is also a great guy to work with. Because of how bad Amazon is treating us I decided not to go to another DSP and be done with it, plus I don’t want to take any chances that the new DSP would be better than us.
