John Meadows was everything good about this industry, this country and this world. I listened to “Starry Night 🎼” at 3am this morning and I cried thinking about John Meadows and some of the words of compassion and peace that came out of his mouth

That’s awesome you shared this, man. I feel the same way that you do. I feel like I lost my favorite uncle, a second dad, the world’s best big brother; he encompasses everything great in a human. I’m so eternally grateful that I had the absolute pleasure to meet him for the first time just two short months ago.

Great sentiment. I think about John all the time. He helped me a great deal by answering my questions on my Instagram page and with all his videos. He was always real and reached so many of us. Every time I train in the gym, I think of him. Today I was just doing rear delt heavy partials on an incline bench as well as heavy side partials. Following his training has been a real help to me. But he is also an amazing person in general and will be greatly missed.

And I remember thinking who the hell is that? Anyways I'm glad I finally stumbled across your channel man! You're doing a great job. Quality content minus all the bells and whistles that everyone else uses these days. With all due respect off course.

I love your initial point about Fasting. I'm currently doing a prolonged Fast similar to the one I did this time last year and had massive success. My favorite benefit was the improved liver function, improved pumps from food assimilation, and mental strength from controlling my consumption patterns. I love the thoughts you shared, especially the protein stuff too. I respond beautifully to starches and lower amounts of protein. It's great seeing you interviewed for a change. The questions you were asked really help to focus on simplicity too. You're a gem.

To me, Poliquin was the Iron Guru 2.0, he definitely picked up the torch where Gironda left off, and I mean that with the utmost respect and the highest compliments. Always followed him on T-Nation, his personal website, and I do have a couple of his books floating around. He both pioneered, and also helped to innovate and refine the best practices of the past, combining them with the advances in technology and medicine that we have today. Great stuff, really, and one of the few who truly can be called a Guru.
@robowarriorx6 жыл бұрын
As a side note, on the fasting, definitely have to agree. I don't have the level of digestive issues that I know that you have, but I do have TMS, type 2, and either Hashimoto or celiacs (getting the labs finally figured out in a couple weeks) and it has helped a ton. I do go a little low on energy from time to time, but I can say as a natural lifter who is over 230 (smooth, but trying to cut) I definitely am able to at least maintain my strength and mass...but I also have been lifting more than half my life! I also wanted to speak to what you said about the heavy heavy lifting, as I get older, I find that, if my form isn't on 100%, the heavy lifts will absolutely wreck me. I can still go hard and heavy, but I have to take those extra warm up sets, and for me, I don't do a bunch of stretches, but I work through the movement, pyramiding up the weight as I go, but using the same movement every single time, whether its an empty bar or 5 plates, the movement doesn't change...that's probably one of my biggest personal pieces of advice to younger guys out there! And as soon as you feel anything off, the slightest twinge, it's time to back off. I like not having my lower back hurt so bad that my legs go numb after I get home..sort of defeats the purpose.

The mountain of information Charles left behind will assure his legacy lives on ..for generations! The best solid information in the early days of Muscle Media 2000 (bodybuilding magazine) was written by Charles. There was also (for those old enough to remember) a 3 part audio tape interview that Muscle Media put out around the mid 90's, so much information it couldn't be contained in one tape! I just dug them out to make sure I still had them. In today's day and age where "experts" seem a dime a dozen, Charles Poliquin was the real deal and has been for decades...and always will be! Thanks for posting this John!
