Dave trying so hard not to break down in tears at the end was probably the most wholesome bromance moment in the fitness industry. Just think about how much everyone loves, respects, and cherishes John, and miss him. Now imagine being the guy who was there with him for basically his whole journey to Pro, and how HE feels. It just hits that much harder after hearing Dave's voice crack at the end as he tries turning John's life into an inspirational teaching moment for everyone looking to get there. John is no doubt proud to have called Dave a friend. Respect.

The end of the video had me crying like a baby!! I wish I could have met him! I am a pastor of a church and was over 380 pounds and decided I needed to get in better shape, so I started watching his videos and it made me want to push harder and learn more. I binged watched his video for several weeks learning as much as I could. Woke up one morning wanting to quit and give up because I wasn’t seeing any difference in my weight so I went and watched a few of his videos and listen to him talk about his stomach and a heart problem but yet he continued to work passed it and it drove me to get back up and work harder! I ordered one of his shirts one morning and then went to watch one of his videos to see a video about him leaving this world and I found myself crying and heartbroken for a man and his family I never met! As I watch this video getting ready to hit the gym this morning I’m wearing that shirt I purchased off his site and had his family on my heart, I pray his family is doing good! GOD Bless and thanks for the video.

I've said it on a few of John's videos and I'll say it here too; I've never missed someone that I've never met as much as I do him. It's the strangest feeling and I feel almost like I'm not worthy of feeling this amount of loss, because I never even stood in the same room as him. For me, what I loved about John's videos, was his lack of dogmatic limitation. So many Online trainers/influencers deal with a strict belief in right/wrong, effective/useless. Functional training, high volume/low volume, Time under tension/explosive, heavy/moderate, failure/2 in the tank. Everyone seems to have these polar absolutes. John, was always 'yes, it can all work, it does all work, explore what is best for you, and along the way, this is what I'm doing today, this is something I learned that you might find pretty cool' . He had such an encyclopedic knowledge born of experience and love of resistance training in all it's forms, that he could have justifiably used it to build an ego; but instead, he wanted everyone to know as much as he did, so that we could all be the best 'us' we could be, and enjoy our training as much as he did. I don't know about religion from a hill of beans, but I do know genuine generosity of spirit and human decency when I see it, and that was John Meadows to me.

20:00 The part about motivation is absolutely legit. I am always honest with people when they ask. "How do you stay motivated?" I flat out tell them to stop worrying so much about motivation, in the gym and in life. You are never going to be motivated 100% of the time. There are gonna be a lot of days where you feel like absolute dog shit and don't feel like doing something you know you should. It isn't about being motivated...it's about being DEDICATED to your goals.

I just started a month ago watching John Meadows. I totally get his methods because I have the same brain in the gym. I am so late in finding out about this man/person. I’m just now realizing what we as a community have lost forever. It is awesome we have all his training videos still to enjoy. So very sorry to everyone that was close to him. ❤

Ive never felt so much pain from someone who i didnt personally know, his death was such a shock, i had just tragically and suddenly lost my cousin, then john, then a good friend of mine 2 months ago, john really helped me cheer up after my cousin passed, the past 1.5 years have been tough, i never even thought about depression before but now i understand the torment first hand.

I fully believe that Mountain dog truly cared about the industry, and providing information to truly help people out. Healthier living, and safety during a workout. He made a positive impact, and it is hard for anyone to deny that.
