Awesome video Fred! Iove the gypsy variety. We've been having in for dinner quote often. I did 24 plants. I'm doing more in the fall. Be sure to check your plants now, while you were filming a cabbage moth was behind you laying eggs in the broccoli. They are ruthless!

Thanks, Josh! I just love the gypsy variety, as well. Good catch there with that pesky cabbage moth sneaking in this video! (Heading outside to check my plants now...) Thanks! :)

Farmer Fred, thanks again for your informative and happy videos. I'm wondering at what point in their growth do you cover the broccoli with the plastic over the arched pieces? (I think you called it a tunnel house?) I would love to sow broccoli this fall and also would love to try broccolini.

hi Kimberly… once I am finished planting my broccoli transplants in the soil underneath my low tunnel hoop house i cover them right away with my spunbonded polyester cover so it keeps the critters off my plants and protects it from the cabbage butterfly!

Awesome broccoli. Your garden totally motivates me to do better. Thank you. By the way, what do you feed your broccoli?

Thank you… I am glad that my videos are able to motivate you to do better… I feed all my plants in my garden, Alfalfa pellets. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your encouraging words and I hope you have a bountiful garden season!

Fred do you add more alfalfa to your peppers and tomatoes after you put them in the black plastic and if so how do you accomplish this?
@PlantSmartLivingNOW6 жыл бұрын
In the beginning of the season I remove the plastic and add additional composted leaf mulch and I also add my alfalfa pellets down each row and then I put back the plastic for the remainder of the season… The alfalfa pellets are a slow release fertilizer!

Hello yellowgroove, Sweet Millions are a hybrid seed, they will not grow true to the variety from last years seed. You will get tomatoes of one of the parent varieties the hybrid was made from...
