Ah thanks for sharing Helen, I'm glad my details are interesting for people I've always had a habit of talking far too much, but it is good to know it comes in helpful sometimes lol!

Thanks Jan you're very kind, I've already worn the dress on a night out and then I'm wearing it this weekend too. PS the anti static spray worked a treat with the tights!

What a year sewing you have had! I always think you choose brilliant patterns which aren’t too challenging but classic and very wearable. Looking forward to next year and all your new sewing projects. I loved to hear about your sewing bloopers as we all have them and we certainly learn each and every time something slightly different happens 😂 Have a wonderful christmas and happy new year 😘
@SewEssential4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Alison, yes I like to make things I will wear again and again and also like to keep producing new garments to share which generally dictates things. I'll keep sharing the bloopers and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too.

I'm so glad to hear that Sally, it is a brilliant pattern and the only bit which requires any real concentration is the neckline, but tack it first if you're unsure. Good luck, enjoy and have a great Christmas.

Hello Lucy, So enjoy your vlogs. You come across as a very nice young lady. I wish you had a storefront so the next time I am in the UK I could stop by to say hello. Keep up the great work. I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas. Sending God's blessings to you from St. Petersburg, Florida. Love to listen to you talk, also...just an extra benefit!

Great makes! So funny - I've found the shoulders too narrow on indie patterns as well!

I know, it is on pretty much every indie designer I've tried, the only one where I didn't have an issue was Tilly and the Buttons.

Really liked both items. They fit you perfectly too. Thank you for going over the sewing experience in such detail. I learn alot from your explanations. Do you have a blog and a video channel? I think I heard you say you would be writing something in a blog. How would I find that? Thank you very much and have a Merry Christmas!!

Sorry where did you attach stretch interfacing at the neck on the first item - the turtleneck? I didn't catch that and I've never used stretch interfacing before, although I probably should have.
@SewEssential4 жыл бұрын
I just ironed it on the wrong side of the neckband, cut a piece the same size as the neckband then ironed it on. It isn't a necessary step, but I find it gives a little more structure and helps to stabilise the neckline too.

How many centimeters did you remove ? I find the neck very loose.
@SewEssential4 жыл бұрын
I didn't measure it, but just did it gradually, took a bit off, tried it on again and repeated until I was happy. You get a good feel from the initial try on how much to remove. Hope that helps.
