Haha I knew a guy who would call and do nothing but complain about other people mowing their lawns every other day. Idk if he's exaggerating or not but...I think it's jealousy, big time. For one, because they're lazy, two.. because they're not inclined enough to learn more take advice from anyone. Natural born haters I imagine...
@mrnipzs76044 жыл бұрын
Lawerance Lanham now while I wouldn’t go out of my way to complain to neighbors... I just don’t see why people like grass so much (And why they waste time making their grass look nice) , I mean yeah it looks nice but the common grass you see in every lawn is an invasive species that has no benefit to animals or the environment, it’s not even edible. So the question at the end of the day is why do people put so much time in effort into grass when it benefits nothing.

I like to double up the cuts as 2 - 2 or even do 2 - 1 cuts. 2 cuts away from the house and 1 cut back. It'll make the lines look less crooked as well as there are less to look at. I found doing 1 - 1 cuts just allow your eye to more easily see uneven cuts.

Hey, I don't know if you'll respond to this but I have a question. I rent and I decided this year to spruce up my yard a bit. I bought flowers, which are growing beautifully. I also bought seed, fertilizer, lawn food and top soil. I also bought a dethatching rake and dethatched my lawn. But recently I went away and my mom looked after watering the lawn and flowers, but when I came back parts of the lawn were dead. The parts that already had grass were dead and the other parts were growing just fine. I'm wondering why that is? Should I just take the dead grass out and start that patch over again or is there something else I can do?

Nice Reno and video, I really liked it! Sorry I never seen how you set up the backyard in the beginning, but what is the soil/sand profile (% and depths of each type) and, I’m assuming you have a specific drainage type/design and how is this tied into the storm water? And is this a straight cool season grass type, or do you have a parent grass type (couch) and you over sow in the late summer, early autumn....

I have this dream of an Augusta backyard ever since I’ve got back from my first pilgrimage. My yard is about 14,000sqft and is very flat over all (no hills) but the actual surface is insanely bumpy. Lawn is at 3.5” now but want to wipe it and start fresh. Hoping to keep it about 1.25” tall so I can use a zero turn without having to buy a new mower. How would you suggest leveling/grading such a large yard? I haven’t seen someone on KZbin level a yard that isn’t routinely kept under 1/2”
