I'm glad they've figured this one out, but I REALLY hope they figure out the mob despawning bug they've had for over a year now. I had my entire villager trading hall despawn a few weeks ago, and it's killed my desire to play the game at all since.

No one believes me but I spawned near a village that no Villagers spawned in. I was pretty confused when it happened so I just stole all the stuff (mostly). I've been thinking about putting new Villagers in as I have gathered more from nearby villages. But I've also had some disappear but I think mine died.

@@TheShadowCallers the village was probably an abandoned village, they are a rare find and normally have zombies spawn more often at night nearby. They aren't anything too special but it is fun to rebuild it and bring new villagers in!

I get similar issues with loading while playing on a realm but a bit worse. Sometimes chunks are invisible and I can fall through the world and/or suffocate in the invisible blocks.

Besides backups you also need to tour your builds regularly. In my world a couple builds got deleted from the save file and I didn't know for over a month

It works fine for me on my 350MB world, so yeah, definitely still get one. What I ment was, was that sometimes the world refuses to load while the game is autosaving.

I had a world called “moooooooo” years ago that I had played with my friend on all the time and it got corrupted somehow, the only backup of it was so old it didn’t have any of the things we had built. I’m still sad about it being gone and it’s been probably 6 years.

The things you said about everybody having their own lives and things that excite them seems so important to hear but something you never expect to hear out of a video about a corrupted Minecraft world being recovered and I have always loved that about your videos. I don't know you personally and you passing your driving test is statistically unlikely to ever affect me in any way but I'm happy that you're happy.

Around 16:00 you mentioned ups and downs... I actually have a wave tattoo ( a detailed one, not the typical one line ) on my ankle that represents that ideology! What was your RAM usage before this bug occured? also did they tell you what the chunk of issue was? This just happened to me is why I am asking. My PC got a blue screen and crashed and my world wouldn't open so I had to revert to old version and rebuild a LOT of projects. My RAM never goes over 65% and I have 16 GB DDR4

on 24 chunks the memory usage is about 1,5 gb, on 48 chunks 2 gb, so yeah, 11 gb is a LOT. if this bug occured to me, my game would probably crash since i only have 8 gb ram

@ManWasTaken yeah, if you want a more stable world, try to make changes to already generated, untouched chunkes that are close to the center instead of generating new ones far away, thus bloating your world

I had the same problem too. However, it's was caused by beta not by a bug. Every time I tried to load into my world it immediately crashed. However it was fixed by uninstalling the game and installing it again.But glad to see your world is fixed anyways.

I can't use fireworks either ugh for quite sometime even in a brand new world. If I spam the fire work and jump I can get off the ground sometimes but I can't use rockets while gliding unless I disengage glide quickly fire rocket then engage again

I don't know why, but glitches involving something duplicating to an absurd degree are always kind of funny to me. I'm very sorry about your world, but I'm glad you got it back and (mostly) working. But man... the fact that it's caused by a crap-ton of ender dragons is pretty funny. It's just such a bizarre explanation. It reminds me of the time I lost a save file in The Sims 4, and apparently the issue was caused by an NPCs beard duplicating.

I'm taking random damage at random times, sometimes my fireworks don't work and sometimes my game crashes. When these crashes happen different animals/mobs throughout my world just disappear. They despawn just like that, gone forever. Also these crashes happen more often when I look at maps (the maps from Legacy Console Edition) Does this mean my world is broken? I do backups but after I make a new backup I delete the old backup so there's always just one backup but I make them regularly so yeah I can't go back like 3 or 5 weeks because I don't have old backups. I'm scared of losing this world. I've been working on it for 7 years now I'm on PS4 and I have enough storage space. The world is over 900MB. It's how Toycat talked about his save where all the stuff was happening that is also happening to me that scares me. What do I do? I already reported the crashes to PlayStation and Mojang I do have the world on Legacy Console from the last time I played on it before converting it to Bedrock but if I went back to do that save I would lose so, so, SO much work. Literally 2+ years of work and progress in the world. I'm glad things worked out for you though Toycat and I hope your week gets better. Take care

Hope Mojang can fix this soon toycat! It's quite unfortunate to see that when you first tried loading up the world it tried using more ram than my machine has (16) , and even after the world loaded up, it used more ram than you can allocate to a Java Edition without the memory dump causing lag (8). They have to fix this soon, because once 1.18 rolls around this will be an even bigger problem.

Thank goodness there was a fix that the developers helped out with! I know your world was from the Xbox 360 daayyss, and Xbox one daayyss! I still play the Legacy versions of Minecraft because I think they’re the beesst, and I don’t plan oonn switching to bedrock! Had the same issue, but it deleted all of the entities near me when I reloaded the world. Literally my cow farm is just empty since i loaded it up, and my armor stand with the wither skull disappeared…so yeah.

Toycat, I had the same problem when I was playing on one of my worlds then I got disconnected from it and looked at the size, the size went up real fast, I rebooted and freed up some space and I fixed the problem. I was playing on my switch. This is what I remember at least.

The world is likely loading slow because it's trying to procedurally reoptimize the chunks, Simmilar to how servers with old maps update. After finishing the video It's actually a integer overflow so I'm confused about the world laading.

Well, the more chunks you explore, the more your world lags. I have a feeling that the situation is just gonna keep getting worse after every new update comes out and adds new stuff. I’m not too worried about 1.18 since they’re adding new stuff under old worlds, but 1.19 on the other hand.

Just reset useless chunks using amulet before every update and you'll be ok. If you find something cool then link it via the nether and erase the chunks around it.

I started building a map wall, 16x16, after about a 3rd of the way through I lost my whole world when it crashed and wouldn't load again 😪 now I'm scared to try any big projects in case the game fails... the game should not allow this!

Maps also cause issues Iirc 1 map holds 4 entries for every 1/4 so for a full 4/4 map is 16 entries all maps do this even if to a duplicate That's why i don't use maps

If you're on Bedrock then maps are a very, very bad idea. They are bugged and even having just one map will slow the world down. More than one map is asking for trouble.
