There is no taking away from the fact that Carol Kagia is an incredible mother of two but she is also knows the effect of her first sip to red wine and the pain that single act would cause her 20years later
On this episode of LNS, she takes Lynn through her journey with alcoholism as a christian woman, the pregnancies and her father's unconditional love towards her

I fear addiction. It takes over your life, strips you of your dignity, destroys your relationships, destroys careers...and wastes your life. It is a testament to you Carol that you have conquered this demon, may you remain sober for life.

I was a bhang addict for a good ten years, I chewed miraa and later graduated to muguka for close to ten years, o was drinking heavily for some years and all these years I was a teacher. The Lord heard my cry and delivered me. I am a born again christian now for 7years. Addiction is real. Let's speak and encourage those going through the same or those who have just stopped and don't know how to go about it.

There's a lot to learn from this story. I was an addict a few years ago and my dad reached a point of giving up on one day he told me that he is just waiting for the day they will call him to come and pick me up from the mortuary . I made him go through hell I would drink and the conductors of kojja stage would him to come and pick There's no college I did not attend that is within Nairobi cbd, college was graffins college in town and I would refuse to attend classes and decide to go buy alcohol come and sit there opposite nation center there some seats where people sit near total. I remember one day I drunk so much till I blacked out to the point the chokoras wanted to rape me some boda boda guys called the police. Good enough I used to walk with my passport so behind the passport I had written my dad's number, They called him and asked if he knew me. Like I saw my dad suffer stress because of me and it never used to bother me. As long as I had a bottle nothing else mattered that was my life but I thank God I overcame the addiction

And then people will glorify taking alcohol and then they question some of us who never drink thinking we are the ones with a problem.growing up I watched my dad battle alcholism and it really took a toll on my mum. Being a first born I saw the pain she went through, they later separated, we suffered with no school fees, rent etc. As he used to spend all of it buying alcohol. Years later my dad is 9 years sober, looks much better and I'm happy that his life turned around for good.

Thanks, Carol for being so bold to address this monster of alcoholism. You see addiction is a disease. I myself have struggled with quitting sugar. I laughed at a thought the other day thinking, "Am I not an addict in one way?" I've had withdrawal symptoms of quitting sugar, yes sugar from headache to anger and all that. When one knows better, one ought to do better.

Wow! What a story! More power to you Caroline in your journey in freedom. I hope every man and woman who's going through the same struggle in alcohol will hear this story and seek help. Thank you Lynn for highlighting this issue of alcoholism. There are many kinds of addictions, there are Christians (believers i.e) who're suffering from addiction to pornography also. I commend Crossroads Fellowship Church in Mbsa who started a programme (CR) in 2018 that dealt with addictions, I don't know if it's still operational. But, yes the Church has been so lazy at dealing with REAL issues.

I found out that some habits are walked out after salvation. Some habits may go away instantly , that makes the difference between a miracle and a blessing. To have a miracle you need to be in a crisis. A miracle cannot be duplicated or passed on and to experiencea miracle one wouldneed to walk from crisis to crisis. . A blessing on the other hand is a lot like a formula and one can help other people in similar situations when they are operating out of a blessing. No wonder we are blessed to be a blessing. Carol walked out her freedom and she is able to help other people. 'Kenyan salvation' is one that expects believers to change immediately after the salvation prayer. It is discouraging when a person trips. They feel like they are beyond help. God really wants us to experience his best and meets each of us at our point of need in His way.

My tolerance with alcohol was highhh too i would tank a crate of beer. All over hung-outs. .I'm also the 1st born, born and grew up from a born again family my dad a bishop. Liquor plus too much beers makes you look olddd kabisa I had darkened too, i aged terriblyyy but if you look at me today cheeei im glowing and I give my children my all. There is freedom in sobriety.

Being addicted to anything is the worst thing and feeling ever..I pray than I never get addicted to anything, and to my Sons as well 🙏🙏..may God heal our generation 🙏🙏 at some point I think our country could go far if our youth can be saved from alcoholism..so far that's the thing I had made me love Saudi..even if some people are taking it.. it's illegal here.. with all the wisdom with people in our country..we could go far..I have been around addicted people so I know and understand what Carol is taking about

Thanks Lynn and Carol for sharing your story. I thank your father for going with you all the way. I also thank God for giving you another chance so you may be the one to talk and give hope to the hopeless. I have my three brothers and my niece. Two of my brothers are being taken for a rehab and to say so one of them is in a rehab now. My niece was at rehab in February this year. The two never changed and continued drinking as before. What can be done to people like them ? May God think of those who take alcohol, it’s the worst drink I have ever seen destroying many people.

But the Church is stressed as well. The Church leaders are the most depressed.
