There are no guarantees, but word-of-mouth is very good in these cases. You must know someone that had major dental work done. How satisfied were they with the results? Thats a good starting point.

Go to a older dentist that has his own practice. One that has over 100 good reviews online. For root canals you go to a dentist that only does root canals. Preferably a Asia lady that is small and has tiny hands. Mine can fit both her hands inside my mouth at once. She also comes highly recommended from friends and her clients

I was the same way. I ate healthy, exercise, did not need any medication or drugs or doctors for anything. I was was 43 years old, stood 5'9" tall 180 lbs solid. Early September 23' I started getting headaches that I couldn't get rid of. The stress of which, let my gut to be susceptible to a h pylori infection. The h pylori infection went undiagnosed for 2 months. So starting early December I started taking the antibiotics to kill the h pylori. They got rid of the h pylori but they also killed all my good gut bacteria and led to three other infections. The h pylori caused me to lose 30 pounds, most of which was muscle. Because I went through all of that with my gut, my headaches were never properly addressed. Now, I have gut problems and headache problems that I cannot get rid of, Im only 150 pounds very weak, zero confidence, zero ambition, no life. Prior to this I was probably one of the most active 43 year olds you'd ever meet. Constantly traveling, hiking, motorcycle riding, ATV riding, and more, Always active. Hated just sitting in the house during time off from work. Too active. Now, all I want to do is sit in the house, and my favorite time of the day is bedtime because I can go to sleep and forget about all my struggles and pain. I hope and pray my old life will come back. If anyone out there is into the Lord please send some prayers my way they are much appreciated.

I've had 4 root canals, and I can tell you this, the root canal is is nothing compared to the abscessed tooth pain. A tooth infection is dangerous though, it can really spread to the rest of the body. Get it taken care of as quickly as you can. It is hard to find a good and trustworthy dentist, I wish you the best of luck!

Never had a problem? Dead hollowed out teeth are a great place for disease to live, and batter your immune system endlessly. The dentist will boast that they get out every last bit of dentin out of that shell and fill it all up, no chance of infection. RIGHT. No infection that you know about at least.

An advice @CycleCruza to minimize dental visits, eat more veges and less meat, avoid softdrinks or artificial drinks and plain water is good. I also used mild hydrogen peroxide as toothpaste after using my regular toothpaste upon brushing my teeth. By the way I only brush my teeth once a day... and ever since, I dont have any tooth decay. Regarding root canal, its not advisable, it will harbour bacteria inside the dead tooth. Better extract your teeth and used prosthetic teeth or dental implants. Regarding about your eyes, to minimize problems like Retinal tear, eat more veges and fruits, avoid process foods and less meat, to make it strong and resilient to any type of eye diseases. By the way Im an Optometrist.

You're right about the corporate chain dentists. One botched a root canal (they didn't seal it fully) and it got infected again. They said it was just routine pain (3 weeks later?) and I had to go to another dentist. He X-rayed it and printed it out circling where they didn't seal the root. He told me to tell them to refund me or I would report them to the dental board. He even said he'd vouch for me if I had to do that. After a ton of phone calls and visits, they did refund me but I had to get a second root canal on the same tooth. The dentist who I went to for the second opinion is my dentist to this day. Find a good family dentist but always be skeptical it they want to start drilling into your teeth (and your wallet).
@CycleCruza

Ive heard you should never get a root canal done by a dentist, only a endodontist. I just asked my neighbor for a good dentist and she recommended one that is a family dentist. I'm going to get an appointment and will be seeing another endodontist. The last one I saw said he can knock out 3 root canals in 30 minutes, I did not go back. lol

CC, I feel for you. Ive had terrible teeth issues my whole life. Like you i flossed, etc. My dentist sayed my problems were genetic. What you're not talking about is pockets. Did the dentist say you have deep pockets in your gums? Thats pretty much the indicator of future pulling of teeth. My impression is that root canals work half the time. I had to have all my back teeth removed. And yes, it was depressing. I got bone spurs afterward that hurt like hell. Everything is healed up until the next set of problems. But you are strong and you can deal with whatever happens. Remember that. 🙏

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to reply brother! That’s absolutely heartbreaking to hear about your mother. I’m so happy for her and your family she pulled through and has had a fulfilling life! I’m so happy for her! And thank you for your kind words. I have gotten a lot stronger since then. I was on the way to losing my own life from a broken heart. But I knew I had to pull through to take care of my own family. I lost my mother and father about 30 seconds away from one another from complications due to Covid. My father first and then my mother… And four more in the following months. I’m just now starting to reestablish my relationship with the Lord. Needless to say, I was very angry with Him… But all we can do is take it one day at a time. I just started attending church once again last week. At some point, I will find complete peace with the Lord once again, but it will take some time. Thank you so much brother for responding, and I hope you have a wonderful week. And as always, thank you for all your killer vids… ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

I shopped dentists for the longest time. Had some that were meh, one that was absolutely awful - talk about the most discomfort ever during cleaning and getting shots for dental work. Finally found one that I love and will never leave. Even if they stop taking my insurance I will pay out of pocket. Not only is the dentist very skilled (he can give you the numbing shots for fillings without using that pre-numbing jelly - he knows this trick with pressure on certain nerves - it's crazy, but it works!). He can do general root canals right there. Patient comfort is their absolute priority. He also isn't a rip off - I had a cavity that just started but it was sensitive. He actually said to wait and use special toothpaste, but if I wanted to he would fix it right there. I have horrible teeth, horrible genetics for teeth - I have 6 crowns, 4 of them are the teeth between my k9s. Two root canals, the one he did and the other he had to send out because he wasn't sure he got all the pulp out or whatever, so sent me to a endo and didn't even charge me for the work he did. The one thing I do hate about root canals is then you do need a crown, and with crowns being $1200 a pop these days... It's insane. So you just need to shop and find a trustworthy dentist. If you want to come to PA and see mine I can give you the info lol. There is a waitlist though.

ive had that happen before with a tooth it swoled up like a golf ball like you said and i was in a ton of pain, i actually rode my motorcycle to urgent care and got put on anti biotics which reduced swelling and pain, i tell you it was not very comfortable putting my helmet on with my cheek swollen. But after a few days i believe i just went to my dentist and had the tooth pulled, since it was one of my top side molars i wasnt too worried about saving it since i can get a bridge put in but the damn tooth hole bled for several days just kept bleeding and filling my mouth with blood and finally it started to heal but man that was terrible. Ive had a couple more teeth pulled since then and its definitely worse when you let them get infected but yea dude screw the holistic crap go find you a good dentist with good reviews and get it handled either pulled or root canal, usually its going to be the tooth that has a big cavity because thats what causes the infection the tooth gets decayed down far enough till the pulp of the tooth is exposed and bacteria gets to the nerve and once it gets in there they either have to drill the nerve out aka root canal or just pull it, id rather pull it if its not a front tooth lol get a bridge slapped in and call it a day or an implant if you got the money
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 9 ай бұрын
Dang! I hear a bridge is bad because they grind down good teeth next to it and the bridge pulls on those teeth and they end up having to be pulled. If I get the teeth pulled I will just go ahead and get implants but they are crazy expensive. You can buy a nice used motorcycle for the cost of one dental implant. 😧
@psyfertech
@psyfertech 9 ай бұрын
@@CycleCruza yea haha i never ended up getting the bridges put in so i got the gap still there on the side of my mouth i figure one day i might get the bridge but i know with implants also you want to get them put in very soon after the tooth is pulled because the bone starts to shrink but yea you aint kidding man insane prices on that crap, i have had 2 root canals done, one of them didnt take and had to get tooth pulled later and the other one has held up pretty well these past 2 or so years i guess its luck of the draw. But yea root canals can be painful the first one hurt the most when they melted the rubber into where the nerve used to be its very hot and sent a shock through me but the last one i had done was pretty smooth.

In Romania, a tooth extraction is $20, a root canal treatment is $50, the initial diagnosis is free of charge and you are free to go to whoever you want. The x-rays for the whole mouth is $30. I got clear daemon braces, with full treatment on my mouth and surgeries for complications on some extractions, and get this - due to my child being born my dentist wiped most of my debt, now i only owe some extraction cost and what not. From $3000 total, i owe now just about $150.

Man that’s frustrating, I’ve heard stories like this before. It’s hard to find a good dentist. I’ve had the same dentist since I was a kid and thankfully they are very trustworthy. Get routine cleanings is one thing I can recommend! It’s impossible to get everything off your teeth by yourself

Dr. Ellie (dentist)says to never get a teeth cleaning because it removes the biofilm on the teeth that is beneficial. She says to follow her program which includes xylitol gum and mints and a listed regimine to keep your teeth void of cavities and problems. However, you don't know what to believe. lol

I have an Army buddy...and he said that back in the military days (in our early 20's) he went to an on-post dental visit and they basically tore up his dental-work with a shitload of fillings. He figures they were using his teeth for training purposes, lol But later, other dentists said he didn't need all of those fillings to begin with.

I got an implant many years ago due to a molar that cracked. Had zero idea it was decayed and weakened to that point. I didn't want to go the root canal rout due to concerns about long term health issues with them (immune suppression and bacterial and disease problem potentials with the dead tooth). The implant isn't the same shape up to the gum surface so you do get fibrous food stuck there often, but a simple pick with floss and it's not an issue. I had good sufficient bone mass and density.

Mr. Cruza......sorry about your travails here.....I am a "senior" motorcycle rider with lot's of experience in life's progress, some good, some not good. The best way (in my opinion) to find a dentist is exactly what you're doing. See several and find the one that you connect with in terms of treatment, and there's got to be some chemistry of trust. Some dentists are aggressive in one way, some not. You gotta find one that aligns with your viewpoint, and stick with that one! Only going to the dentist when you have a problem isn't the way to go. Even with diligent brushing/flossing etc. you build up problems in your teeth, food gets trapped, festers. Plaque happens over time that you can't reach, etc. So, find one that you like, hopefully one within easy driving/riding range and then see this person once/twice per year for cleaning and inspection. That way the long term stuff won't build up. Also if you see the same dentist over time that person will recognize how and why your teeth are treated best.....don't wait for a problem to see a dentist! Good luck and remember what my Grandma used to say; "Be true to your teeth and they'll never be false to you." LOL.

The only dentists i would trust would be Case Western Dental school. Yeah you'll be working with students getting their dental degree but they are supervised by well known specialists. They don't really make money so the treatment plans tend to be on track. The plan is also reviewed by so many dentists so dubious treatment is eliminated for the most part. Runs about 1/2 cost of a outside dentist but you pay for it in time spent (easy 3hr appts, multiple visits). Get well bro!

After a root canal treatment, your teeth will be good for tops another 20 years, after that they will crack and will have to be extracted. Once the nerve is removed, the tooth will slowly become brittle over time. I think canal treatment is a better deal than having your teeth replaced with implants, even if you end up needing implants 20 years from now. The one thing you have to be super careful about is your gum health. Get a Waterpik too bro, along with floss that thing is absolutely indispensable to fight and beat periodontal disease.

Yo man, you need to take care of yourself and your health, the best prevention is to do fasting, doing regularly veggie juices and staying positive. I personally brush my teeth 2 to 3 times a day, I use fluoride-free paste and also use baking soda mixed with some mint essential oil. Your mouth acidic pH must always stay a little bit positive and these ingredients help!. For your current dental issue, I highly advise consulting several different specialists to make sure you get best treatment.

Man, if you're going to have a root canal I seriously recommend you find a dentists that uses a microscope for it. A year ago I needed it done and a friend told me about this dentist that does all his procedures differently and he specialises in microscope root canals, there is no "dentist chair", you just lie down on a bed. The whole thing is done with miniature tools while the dentist sees everything under high magnification. I had a "normal" root canal done some years ago, and then this one a year ago and the difference is like night and day. For one, the "traditional dentist" would tell me how there is a 5% chance of failure (in my case), the microscope guy said 1% chance if failure and if it fails he fixes it even a year later. I'm located in Poland so this type of dentistry is probably called something else in USA, who knows, maybe its all they do over there. One thing is for sure. Once I had one of those microscopic procedures done I'll definitely not be having any of the "traditional" ones done anymore. It does cost twice more than the normal dentist, but it is well worth it. It really is a lot more comfortable. The worst part of the whole experience was getting the initial painkiller shots, the rest was not bad at all. Also, the root canal takes way less time done this way. My traditional root canal took like 4h (I insisted I want it done all in one sitting, normally it would be a couple appointments). The microscope guy did the whole thing in 2 hours. So long story short, get a microscope root canal, not the "normal" one.
