Great info. I just got a Lionel 60 Trolley in a big box of trains from a second-hand store. After a clean & Lube, it worked smooth, quieter, and great.

I got one of these with the motorman when I was a kid (I'm now 74) and I still have it on my layout.

YEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!! And you have A motorman equipped car!!!! Just outstanding and your free to quote me whenever you feel! Thank you friend. My record for switching the ends on a birney car is 48 seconds, that includes changing the poles, flipping the seats, changing the handles and lights. But not changing the money box, on all the Ines over run on they never required it

I too love trolleys. My preferences lean toward PCC cars but I certainly like the older style like your #60. Great job on getting it to run so smooth & quiet.

Nice collection, the tin plate especially.

I like these - very nice Chuck! I do like trolleys but only have one RailKing Christmas trolley out in The Cave. I do vaguely remember taking a ride on the last day of trolley operations in Milwaukee (1961? 63?)

What did you do and what did you use to make that early #60 trolley so quiet? I have one, as well as several other motorized units and even oiled and greased they are noisy. Many thanks.

I wish you would turn over both Marx and Lionel trolleys to display the motors. Do they have anything in common with their locomotives?

Marx trolleys have DC can motors as apposed to the traditional Pancake style motors of regular marx trains.
